Not so much the bars , just the area close to the bars where the bargirls live . 

Mobile phone  running costs are much cheaper in UK than Thailand ,, most common foods are as is wine ,,  and cars and motorcycles,,electric   costs the same ,, accomodation is much more expensive in UK and unavoidable taxes and charges are  awefully expensive ,,

 

Both countries have good and bad points ,, I now spend  50/50 in both   ,, boredom is a bigger problem in LOS   than UK or EU as there is always more variety of places to see  and things to do ,, wheras  after 25 years in Thailand  I have seen everything   its mostly a monoculture ,,,Europe is not  also its climate and  landscapes are better   in the spring ,summer ,and Autumn

 

No where is perfect or paradise ,, humans  make sure of that  ,,

London is a vast mosaic of different areas a lot of which I haven't ever gone to or intend to. So when Londoners meet one of the first questions they ask of each other is 'where do you live?' Today I walked along the South Bank and crossed over Lambeth Bridge to stroll past parliament and down Whitehall. Lots of people and endlessly interesting, but still looking forward to getting some warm weather and a massage in LOS next month through to Spring. And see some friends. Best not to completely burn one's boats in both directions IMHO.

I always understood that gravy was 'invented' to cover up the smell and taste of the rotting meat that it covered, sort of like perfume was invented to cover up the stink of unwashed bodies.
