Depends on your focus as you can find articles and participation in both direction being such a large and diverse forum.

If you choose to avoid negativity there are diversions, if you wish to debate the ill's and woes thats available too, but by enlarge the impact will be entirely down to the individuals disposition. (generally speaking)

I'd rather say that reading TVF makes me informed, updated.....

Of course there are some threads/subjects about something negative make me feel bad/sad/unhappy, and vice versa.....but that's just the natural interaction with the subjects...

Personally it  depends  on the  catagory  of  topic. But  overall I  eel a  bit  sad  as to attitude  on almost every one and everyone.  Polarized.

Injection  of simple controversy reveals a lot  ! 555

A good mix of positive and negative for me.

A lot of knowledgeable people, no doubt, in various fields, visas, politics, economy, not to mention the subforums, which unfortunately i don't have enough time to explore.

Some quite funny character, some a bit toxic among the posters.

Quite often, on a dull, rainy day, i indulge several hours on TVF, better than any movie if you ask me.

A big thanks to all helpful, honest contributors, and the moderators. Good job !

Good insight into many....

Makes me feel bad for the terminally negative ones.....

I don't/won't dwell on the negative ones, or take them to task....Not worth the effort....

Reading Thaivisa is being negative and positive, up to you. ????

Reading TVF for the last 173 years has turned me into an optimistic pessimist.

The amount of negative news thread's TV pump out every single day is staggering but whatever gets the mouse's clicking is a bonus for them. Learn to skip whatever you think is going to be Thai bashing  , not easy but there are good topics.

Have you ever considered running for political office? if so you got my vote LOL

Neither negative or negative, I find TVF to be an invaluable source of Thai related information, and a source of endless  entertainment, All one needs is to put all interactions in proper perspective and not take thing too seriously.

Half the people you argue with vehemently on TVF, in real life would probably be your best friend , the few I know are nothing like their TVF persona.

It makes me feel enlightened. It is not Thai Visas fault if some Thai policies change for the worse as literally every single change has.  I feel relieved now having some information about a status or a trend that could affect me.  Fore warned is always better

I know I could not.  After 35 years dealing with USA governments, military bureaucracy, etc.  I hate paperwork, irrational policies, etc.  I want my retirement or non working years to be relatively simple and not dealing with constant nuances and now awkward at best financial changes.

Reading Thai Visa makes me disillusioned about expat society.

Reading Thai visa forum has made me feel positive, many different people with very different views on life.

Some very good some absolutely crazy.

Since my accident using this forum has certainly helped me keep my spirits up, kept me away from getting depressed.

If we were all the same with the same thoughts / outlook on life, it not be a good thing.

Yes. Unfortunately it sometimes seems the forum has become a home for the hate filled, the ignorant and the misanthropic.  The level of anti Thai hatred is astonishing as is the ultra conservative moral agenda of those who delight in using the word prostitute when ever possible and who celebrate when some unfortunate get busted on a petty drugs offence. Fortunately in real life I dont know any such people.

40-some years ago, I thought I'd come back to retire.  Not so sure now.  At the home-town level (Loei) all would be fine. But the government intrusion and reporting and all that puts a damper on that.   Nonetheless, it would be a pleasure to come back to Thailand and not have to sort through junk mail every day.

It is very hard not to be critical when mistakes are being made. Obviously it is a kindness to keep your mouth shut when it is none of your business and no one is getting hurt. But people are getting hurt all the time. Not just in Thailand obviously.

A forum attracts critical discussion. People are concerned with problems more than they are with success. Success doesn't need to be solved. If you listen to conversations, most of the time people are talking about problems

I am critical of human activity all over the world. There is a whole lot of stupid out there these days. I love a bit of problem solving. But it is difficult if you can't honestly analyze/discuss the problem. I think there are a lot of people who don't want to hear criticisms because they prefer to keep their illusions. But being critical is part of making things better. Of course being critical without suggesting solutions is just misanthropy. There are some folks that are all storm cloud and no rainbow. But even from them, observations can be valid. And you have the added benefit of pointing out their mistakes.

What's wrong with the word 'prostitute'?

It's why we're all here.

Informed on immigration games as visa companies have no interest. Secondly allows me to remove the rose coloured glasses I was wearing 14 years ago when I first arrived here and decided this can be my retirement country.

I also actually feel positive read these enigmatic pages filled with the delights and detretus of our world and helps me feel connected to it and it also helps my spelling and for pulling my head in when I get thumped for my literary misadventures.

Many of my Thai friends say "you know more about Thailand than most Thais know".

Very complimentary. But what I know is 99% attributable to ThaiVisa.

Negative or positive, both get amply explored on the forum. Sometimes, it is obvious that the poster is just a "glass half full" kind of person. I feel enlightened but not swayed by what I read.

This "member" must be receiving different topics than I receive. Can't say as I see a "staggering" amount of "negative news" in my feed.
