Chiang Mai Immigration Q & A - Info and reports. (2020)

I need to do an extension towards end of April, so I have been

on the Chiang Mai Immigration website, to request an appointment.

On the website there are 2 choices I think i need the first one

"Application form   contact the agency  request for appointment form."

has anyone been successful in obtaining an appointment ?,

"Contact the agency", does not mean you have to use an Agent ?

Thanks

regards Worgeordie

It would seem the appointment facility is only

if you have a work permit, not those people

on retirement ,? correct, ?

90 day online reporting has been down for a while, is drive through at Airport imm still available or only mail and in person at Promenada?

Posted

Normally, I would report online, however the system is still down

I reported at Promenada, very quick just a few minutes

Imm now requires you house GPS location written on the form

Used the appointment booking for marriage extension OK in January.

They want you home GPS co-ordinates.

Where at Promenada? I took a sniff today when I went to shop at Rimping, checking out the second floor, between Duke's and Chi Chang. What used to be an Immigration office several years ago was now an empty office space (next to, I believe, an iphone store). So, where is Immigration? Their old spaces on the ground floor?

Thanx. Just preparing in case the online reporting doesn't come back in time.

Yes, drive through is still available. Open from 8.30a.m. Make sure you go in the "new" first entrance.

In and out for 2 persons reports in 5 minutes this morning.

Did you request a date or do you just get the date they gave you ?.

as on the form I filled in (the first one), it just asked for my details

and never had a anything about dates, only the second option,

which I thought was just for those with work permits had a calendar

you could request date . thanks

You are given a date and time - you don't get to choose.

Presently, the Old Zoo days are in the revision mirror????

From my experience renewing my NON O retirement visa last month, a  Walk  In , at 8am was only needed and completed  by  10 am.

No need for a visa agent,or the hassle, of booking a time slot appointment etc etc.

and since my renewal ,my above feedback has been confirmed by several friends

Choose a day ,and roll the dice????and do a Walk In.

Went after lunch and was all done 90 minutes later.  Didn't bother with RE permit this time.  Can't see any point in appointment system at present.

Because the online 90 day reporting is not working I will have to make an in-person report(first time in a long time).  Can someone confirm in-person 90 day reports(with the exception of drive thru) is done at Promenada?

Yes, 90 day, plus a few other things, are done at Promenada, on the same floor as the TM30 office used to be, but around the corner from Bangkok Bank.

My sympathy to folks having problems with Thai Immigration. They drove me round the Twist (Old British saying ) years ago.

For many years now I have used the services of a Professional Visa Agent here in Chiang Mai.

Not expensive but takes the hassle off my shoulders, at my advanced years I do not need *&^*ing about and prefer to let a Pro do the business for me.

Years ago an agent was a worthwhile expense for persons in your situation.  Nowadays it's a waste of money as CM Immi is so much more streamlined, friendly, and with fewer clients - For the duration of Covid travel restrictions anyway.

Using an agent will force people to stop posting (moaning, whining, sniveling) about how the online does not work, where to go to do a 90 day or TM30, Oh No the paperwork, general P and M

Of such their Lives are Filled ! 555

Did anyone try to do the online 90 day reporting today?

The system seems to be down and the immigration office is closed for many days.

This really sucks.
