Full force of Thai immigration descends on little old lady trying to make ends meet

Thai media Naew Na gave the arrest of a little old foreign lady in Loei the full press treatment. 

 

In an article that had all the trappings of a big bust of a foreigner, the only person arrested by a huge team of officers was a 61 year old from Laos who was working illegally in Thailand. 

 

Naew Na mentioned immigration chief Lt-Gen Sompong Chingduang first as being ultimately responsible. Then down through the ranks were ten other officers whose names and ranks were all highlighted. 

 

They needed to be helped by staff from the labor department and protection agencies. 

 

This manpower resulted in the arrest of Bualoi Sriakkajan on a building site near a temple in the small area of Kut Pong in Muang district of Loei. 

 

An informant had phoned in a telephone tip resulting in the raid. 

 

Bua Loi, from the village of Ban Tak Daet near Vientiane, had no papers and had been working for just 300 baht a day from 8 am to 5 pm. 

 

She was booked for illegal entry and having no work permit and handed over for processing. 

 

No one in charge was arrested - just the little old lady.

Immigration seem to be totally out of control these days.

Looking to jail and deport the most vulnerable of people for the most trivial of offences.

What government official in their right mind would want to be photographed oppressing a little old lady?

Their parents, wives and children must be so proud of them.

 

Step out of line, and you're next.

What an absolutely pathetic situation, huge team of immigration plonkers, aided by labour department, and protection agencies.

This country is going to the dogs, an older lady being hounded by a large group of men , when all it needed was 1 man, or maybe they were scared she was a martial arts expert.????

11 individuals clambering for a photo op with a little old lady ! These people should be ashamed.

 

They are out of control with this press publicity, that they somehow use it to justify their jobs.

 

All it really needed was ONE officer to tap her on the shoulder and process her, not a media circus.

The press/media should not pay them any attention at all !

WOW What a scoop!!!! Undercover guys dicing with death for years, as they carefully infiltrated the cartel ......... hidden mics and glocks ........ the SWAT team were in place as the main arresting group moved in. It was touch and go for a moment when the old lady picked up her shovel and there was talk that she might hold the cement mixer hostage and demand cash and a helicopter across the border.

 

Interpol were asking why they were kept in the dark over this massive arrest ........ Kudos to the boys in brown!!!!!

I don't know what is more shameful, immigration being so heavy handed on a little old lady, or the subsequent circus they think such an arrest warrants. If they had any sense of shame, which of course they don't, they would have kept an arrest like this quiet. The zealotry of these people is getting ludicrous.

Seems thailand is heading along the same path

 

Immigration will decide who are the perceived "good guys" and why they are good and if they can stay.

 

We as a human race  dont seem to have come very far or learnt very much 

Great catch, this justifies further investment in smart BMWs to catch more of these old lady villains.

When I read this, I suppose that she was working for a Thai person who does not seem to have make  the necessary steps for this Laotian lady can obtain a WP.

 

It is this Thai person who must be locked up and given a heavy fine.

Typical. They are nothing more than cowards. The gang mentality that is prevalent when Thai men fight is obvious in this charade. Go in mob handed, keep the odds on you're side. No one else was arrested because the Thai employer has money and influence.

Um "snitches"who inform on those doing harm to others are not !

My sympathies are with the immigration - since the army have come to power they've taken a big chunk out of their feasts and keep the money rolling in they need to cast the nets wider to keep themselves fed. Basic law of the jungle - which is where you ared !

Very sad and despicable . Over the top "team" to arrest. And more despicable is that whoever it was  paying her was not also arrested because whoever was the snitch knew the situation.
