Australians also out of luck and no mention what we are suppossed to do.

You are wrong. It is not only for the countries listed especially since that list no longer exists.

It is all countries now.

However, going to the Thai Immigration office could expose you the virus. Why force people to go to a crowded office full of potential carriers? Just make it automatic and check on departure.

Well, it's a start.  At least someone has recognized that there are people here in limbo.  The humanitarian efforts are bringing a tear to my eye....

Why not do what the South Koreans did and just give everybody amnesties for a period of time?

We call them prawns but it's as good a suggestion as any I've seen.Tommorrow I will go in to Yasothon Imm office and try my luck as well as calling th Oz embassy about getting the letter requested by Immigration which will mean another trip to the big smoke as I was there a few days ago.I'm on my last 60 day extention to visit wife which runs out next Tuesday so cutting it a bit close.I'll report my experience afterwards.

Maybe a good idea to download and print Thai version of this order from ubanjoe's original post and take it with you to Immigration...

That is only needed for number 2. They are required under the clause mentioned. Most people will not need the letter.

No. 2 would apply to anyone on a non-immigrant visa who needs to exit the country but currently is unable to, right?

The U.S. Consulate in BKK, for example, has ZERO appointment dates available for notarial services for anytime in the coming months, I presume because of the coronavirus. So how's anyone supposed to get that kind of consulate document right now?

Thanks ubonjoe I was expecting this to be the case and I will find out tomorrow when I visit Yaso Immigration.

I think the last part covers you @FarFlungFalang. Look at number 3 at the bottom>

This thread brings us good news. Thanks Ubonjoe.

Assuming people of any nationality are successful in getting this extension, presumably one would also need to update the TM.30 reporting for this new 30-day extension, and it may become even more important now since they will need to know where we are, especially if we get sick?

Phuket already has a drive-thru'. It's now for 90 day reports and address notifications and works very well. I doubt they'd use it for this but who knows.

With a unbiased opinion I am certain it is for all countries due to these two words "image.png.e5a4a1d1148275e9a220be31021ed4ce.png" which means other than those countries listed.

They translated ประกอบกับ to "in addition", i think a better translation would be "in combination"

I think we have to read it like this:

Due to the widespread outbreak [...] in the following countries [...] in combination with the cancelled flights [...] those persons are unable to return to their country.

Probably because Thai economy is heavily dependent on tourism revenue. 1900Baht every 30 days would clearly help prop up the already devastating loss of tourism revenue since a few months. I'm just happy there is a solution to not have be forced out of here due to threat of being in overstay status. ????

If they were smart they'd say everyone that has a valid visa from March 10 that is still in the country can remain. Do not come to Immigration we don't want to get sick.

Same with O/B visas just postpone it all 90 days and revisit.

Next we'll hear immigration can't process visa because everyone is ill.

Hi, I am on a 30 day visa extension and going for another 30 day extension tomorrow. I got my original 30 day extension at Changwattana. Does anyone know could I go to another immigration office (Nonthaburi) to get the next extension as I know there will be thousands of people at Changwattana tomorrow which I would prefer to avoid for a number of reasons. Any advice would be very much appreciated!

I think Nonthaburi is only for people residing in that district. I wanted to use it a year or two ago and a friend of mine said it was not possible.

All about collecting that 1900Baht cash in hand.  Money talks. Make sure you come in with a hazmat suit on. ????

If you stay in a hotel/ condo/ friends condo who reports you in Nonthaburi that’s your office. If not, no chance.
I am doing exactly that (though in Ratchaburi with my gf‘s Family), as I fear CW will be a hell during the next weeks/months.

Maybe that works to allow you go to another office. To posit that if you happen to be in a hotel or friend's condo now and you are TM'd by the hotel, meaning that you cannot go to your true home office ... is not true I think.

Postscript.

Maybe you were citing the case of a 'true tourist' who has no real base in Thailand in which case I call off the dogs, but be aware that some people will misread.

Yes my explained case is just for a true tourist on exempt/SETV/METV. For everyone else you would of course have to change your permanent adress first,

Could somebody please provide an opinion on the granting of an extension to an Australian with a Non-O retirement visa & 90 day permission to stay stamp?

It's not really helpful to brush this off by saying that "most people" fall into category 1. I'm not "most people" and I'm pretty sure there is a sizeable number of people who are on 90 day Non-O visas especially due to the new regulations about OA visas which made them so much harder to get.

I really hope somebody answers this with something sensible, since that is what this website is allegedly setup for.

Thanks in advance!

You guys in in for a rude awakening as I went through this on Friday:

For People on Tourist Visas:

You can only get this extension if you already had a flight booked out of the country that has been cancelled, or if there are no flights available out of Thailand to your own country.

This is the only way to get the extension, not I don't want to go home, not I'd rather stay in Thailand, not it's too expensive for me to travel, etc.

If you're Scottish, Welsh, or Northern Irish - then you are damn out of luck. According to the document only England is included. ????

I suppose that they consider Scotland, Wales and northern Ireland as colonies of England. Aren't they ?

If you can get a letter from your embassy, you will qualify under category 2. Otherwise, you will need to plead your case under category 3, probably resulting in the application being taken under consideration with a report back date 7 days later (30 days being given if successful).

The US embassy doesn't give letters.

So this is bad news then and doesn't match with the info posted by the OP

People here on tourist visas who have already had a 30 day extension can't get any more 30 day extensions

????Which immigration office did you go to?

Just because you didn't get one does not mean the rest of the people here will not either. Everyone's situation is different. Thanks anyway for the update on your particular experience. ????

USA on a 30 day exempt that I already extended for 30 days. They ask me for my flight ticket out and to show it was cancelled. Since I hadn't booked a flight yet I could not show them a cancelled flight and because there are flights to the USA it was a no go.

I still have some time on my exempt, so Im weighing my options.

In Phuket BTW

That info was from friday. Today it`s sunday! Things change day by day. Air traffic will be grounded to >90% in a few days.(many airlines already grounded their whole fleet or just operate a few domestic flights) Immigration has not the time/resources to check everything right now.

Even yesterday people were stressed, as some embassies didnt`t provide the letter for extension. In am very sure that immigration will just extend everyone in that situation. Right now you can`t even plan 48hrs ahead travelling by air, so the usual 7 days grace period to leave the country, if not extended, would be counter-productive .
