Trump says ‘germ is so brilliant antibiotics can’t keep up with it’ in chaotic White House coronavirus meeting

I think Thailand having appeared to have dodged the worst of this pandemic (if the data is correct) should be grateful that the "leader" of the free world is not running the government here.

Meanwhile China is causing chaos to Vietnamese fishing boats in the south China sea

Before everyone downloads on the site being MSM, it is all over the internet and the video freely available on several sites

Unfortunately, using facts against a Trump supporter is as effective as using antibiotics against a virus.  The best approach is to socially isolate them.

  • SARS-Cov-2 is a virus, so antibiotics have no effect. Did Trump not say a few weeks ago that he understood this stuff?

This man is getting more and more deluded ay by day. By reading the text and looking at the video, I am surprised he didn´t have any representants from Guinness book of world records.

Doesn´t matter what a person with absolutely no attachment to reality is saying. You can be pretty sure it´s totally misguided information.

He has frequently stated he is smater than most people, knows bigger words, but obviously failed several biology subjects, unlike the head of WHO.

So said the Leader of the free world. The virus is a lot less dangerous than the idiot in the White house.

After nearly 4 years everyone should be used to Trump riffing at the podium. He doesn't just read carefully prepared BS that sounds wonderful yet says nothing from a teleprompter, sad that such an inane and lazy approach won so many fans in years gone by. OK, so Trump mixes up the words germ and virus, big deal. It's nothing compared to Biden's daily word salads. What's with the sudden wave of pedantic outrage? Ah yes, just another excuse to bash Donald John Trump.

There is a big difference between a virus and bacteria, most primary school students know that.

Most high school students understand  antibiotics are ineffective against viral infections

DJT is the one holding the press conferences not JB.

It is not about pedentry it about incompetence, the ability to lead and deliver a consistent message.

Who is the representative of the representants?

After serving as POTUS for 3 years and spouting over 10,000 lies or non-truthful statements, do not think any educated person believes 95% of what he says

Probably no point, if the Guinness folks stated a documented fact he didn't like he would just claim it was fake news or a hoax and dismiss them.

He at least has achieved some knowledge, as well as qualifications also has intellectual capabilities which is more than some.

Right, because most knowledgeable qualified intellectuals would have wanted Bob Mugabe to be a goodwill ambassador for the WHO.

WE do not always make good decisons, and the thread is not about WHO, it is about POTUS, I put the quaifications there as a reference about knowledge.

Deflection is not a good response to a debate

You also fail to note he admitted the decison was wrong and withdrew the appointment

No reference in the article as who has made the accustions nor the veracitiy of them. Just a large headline lifted from the Telegraph, UK, (not the most respected source) which also gives no references or data to collaborate the claim

The thread is not about WHO, it is about POTUS, the references of Tedros were placed there to show he had gained some knowledge and held qualifications as opposed to some others in positions of leadership.

But that is the problem, his supporters do!! And the fact that his latest idiotic outpouring is a complete nonsense will make no difference to them.

And then, horror of horrors, he comes up with this about reopening the economy.....

"I want to get it open as soon as possible. I'm going to have to make a decision and I hope to God that it's the right decision.

"Without question it's the biggest decision I've ever had to make."

Asked what metrics he would use to make his decision, the president pointed at his head and said: "The metrics right here, that's my metrics."

His bizarre ramble has attracted more than three million views on Twitter in less than 24 hours and plenty of ridicule, as well as this from an American citizen....."My 6 year old nephew knows that antibiotics are useless on ALL Viruses. Donald Trump does not! How can such a stupid man be our President?

Never a truer word.

Your 6 year old will be in for a surprise. Antibiotics are being widely used in the fight against Coronavirus. It does surprise me how people can be so cocky and abrasive while being so factually incorrect?

"One of the proposed drugs is the antibiotic azithromycin, which is widely used to treat chest, sinus, throat and skin infections, as well as sexually transmitted diseases.

The researchers say that in combination with hydroxychloroquine – which is also being trialled as a possible treatment, azithromycin was recently shown to inhibit the replication of Covid-19, in a clinical trial in France."

Completly incorrect, they are used to treat the secondary infections, not the virus. First year nurses know that, and biology  students with minimum learning

British lawyer and activist Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu tweeted: “Vaccines not Antibiotics fight viruses.

Anti virals are being trailled.

Your quote:

You have reframed a question to justify you incorrect statement, lacking any intellectual rigor

All most as good as his rambling discourse about low water pressure and dripping shower's he nearly lost his thread there when thinking about 'a shower you know, and it's just dripping, just slowly dripping......

The post was "My 6 year old nephew knows that antibiotics are useless on ALL Viruses. " you said 'Your 6 year old will be in for a surprise. Antibiotics are being widely used in the fight against Coronavirus. It does surprise me how people can be so cocky and abrasive while being so factually incorrect?"  Since they are not used to against the virus as you incorrectly claimed you were corrected. But now you're moving the goal post by stating "are antibiotics being used on Corona patients?"

That was not the claim made to which you reacted.

You were wrong, end off.

Get your facts right.............antibiotics are not used to treat viruses and the medical profession warns against this.

That azithromycin may have a minor role to play (not yet fully proven) along with other drugs, is an outlier and again.......antibiotics should not be used to fight virus infections.

And if you are seriously suggesting that this numbnut knows anything about this, then there is no hope.

PS. The quote about a 6 yr old child was from an American citizen, not me!
