Well, the government is definitely making it difficult for the few tourists that are here in Thailand.

Some guests wanting to come to Samui from Phuket after completing the Phuket Sandbox.

The only option at the moment is a minivan relay service. (New Olympic sport?)

Van 1 from hotel to check-point Charlie at Phuket.

Van 2 from Phuket to Donsak.

Foot passenger on the ferry.

Van 3 from Nathon to the villa.

Latest additional requirement when arriving on Samui by ferry (from an Orange zone).

Some guests just arrived from Suratthani.

They were delayed slightly due to being asked for proof of residence.

They were allowed to board the ferry when one of them had proof of a Lazada delivery to their home address.  ????????

Your Sandbox hotel should be able to provide the latest details. Either for the minivan service or for a private service.

You may need a pick up from the ferry port (Nathon or Lipa Noi) when you disembark at Samui.

Again, your destination villa or hotel could organise that for you.

If you ask 5 different people this question, you will probably receive 5 different replies.

My understanding is that you need a reason to travel from a dark red zone. Business, family etc.

However, reality is that if you are coming to the islands then you need a vaccination certificate and a negative Covid test.

So, can anyone fly from Bangkok to Samui if she has the vaccination certificate and a negative rapid test?

Without having to prove the need for the trip?

Is there any info on what you can actually do your first 7 days of Samui plus?  I know you have to stay in the hotel for a few days but what about after?  Can you explore the island normally?  Eat in restaurants? Beach?

I keep seeing "specific routes and destinations" but no actual info on what these are

Thanks!

Can anyone confirm an Antigen rapid test is accepted for Koh Phangan or does it have to be a PCR test? Keep saying conflicting reports and given the antigen tests are 400 baht and PCR tests are 3000, would obviously prefer an Antigen test! Thanks!

If you look at the official Travel Regulation list in a post above, it says...

RT-PCM / Ag Rapid Test (Les than 72 hours)

But, what my daughter was told by the ferry company was that if she wasn't vaccinated (she's 14 and is not) it had to be a PCR test...go figure ????

I do not doubt you Neilly, but if your daughter went to the ferry terminal on a different day at a different time, she would possibly get a different answer.

I couldn't agree more!

But to be fair to the ferry company it was them who called to ask (she had a ticket booked) and that's how it came about...so anyone wishing to go ought to ask the ferry company what hoops you're required to jump through on that particular day ????

REMARK:** This Travel Document is for the residents living in Samui who want to leave the island and come back in less than 7 days without having to do a COVID test to re-enter. No document needed to leave Samui to other destinations. This is for those who plan to return and don't want to do a COVID test upon arrival.

Does this mean one can go to Surat Thani or Koh Phangan and not get tested on arrival, or this document is only required for leaving the province? Thanks!

The syllabus enables students to develop their ability to analyse unfamiliar problems, devise problem solving strategies, and evaluate the diverse ways a problem may be solved. During a Thinking Skills course, students learn to put their personal views aside in favour of examining and evaluating the evidence. Students learn how to make informed and reasoned decisions and construct evidence-based arguments. NOT IN THAILAND THEY WONT!

KhunPer, I mean would you be tested on the other side? It's not very clear to me. Say I go to a red zone province for 7 days, can I still return without tests, or it's only valid for travel between the islands and Surat Thani mainland?

I cannot answer your question, you need to check with the tessa ban-office or local health affiliates, or with the transporter bringing you back to the island.
