A case in point, Wednesday I was asked by a teacher if I could provide some extra teaching material for some of her students, she said we could all meet and talk about it over dinner. She turned up in her car after school, she plus the 3 students sitting in the back seat, no masks. I got in [with my mask on] we arrived at the restaurant, no scan-in, no record to sign, no hand gel. Sat at the table, not one person wearing a mask in the whole place, no social distancing, staff not wearing any protection. Girl takes the order, no mask while talking to us, service soon arrives with food in hand, no masks. Boss walks over to talk to us as the teacher is a regular customer and I was the only foreigner in the place, no mask. It won't spread you say.... maybe where you are it won't. 4
Dialemco Posted September 4, 2020 Posted September 4, 2020 Does Thailand publish daily deaths rates for this year compared to previous years? Very worrying so many prisoners to one cell what about prison staff was this one of the prisons opened up for tourism?

Their numbers are fraudulent too. I have been following their situation closely as I try to get back home. 1

They could test for antibodies, but ... "too expensive". Better buy a few more submarines. Haven't heard anything from my Thai mate in prison about it. But letters are censored before they are sent out, so who knows what the truth is. Can't get there to visit personally, though he is also afraid that guards listen in to conversations too. He has twice had severe TB inside so I have been afraid what would happen to him if the virus got inside the prison walls.

wmlc Posted September 4, 2020 Posted September 4, 2020 What worries me is the health authorities don’t seem to be worried about where he got it from but only who he may have given it to. This is the same as the Malaysian guy. Where did he get it from? Thailand is naive to think there is no corvid. Maybe there is actually an asymptote strain here. So strange.

I don't think it's been claimed that Thailand has been virus free but rather no local transmissions have been detected or reported which is slightly different. With Thailand being 154th in the world for testing per capita that's not surprising. 5

Burma Bill Posted September 4, 2020 Posted September 4, 2020 Very sad news for Thailand and all of you who want to "escape" LOS. Keep the border closed with Cambodia - we do not want any infected persons from Thailand here in Cambodia. Our latest Covid figures:- Cambodia Total cases 274 Recovered 266 Deaths 0
TigerandDog Posted September 4, 2020 Posted September 4, 2020 this report is not entirely accurate. We've heard today that there has been an isolated case in the North east of Chiang Mai Province. Schools in the district have been notified of this and directed to strictly adhere to mask wearing by students, teachers etc and all other preventative measures viz. use of hand gel, temperature checking etc. until further notice. 1 1

If it stays like this, that would be acceptable. America's situation is different; the problems with it's health care and social system have finally been exposed for the world to see. 1

He is said to have worked as a DJ in popular nightlife areas, including Khaosan Road, and up to 34 people are considered to be at high risk of contracting the virus from him. I would say this is an interesting story and see what will happen ... they should have test all 35 cell mates right now and in 7/14/21 days in our home countries, jails are like all-in hotels with 1-2 in a cell, costing 10.000 baht a night

It's pretty difficult to have a single isolated case, more like they have detected a single case and now will try and find where it came from.Which is like chasing farts in the wind. Popular Post aussienam Posted September 4, 2020 Popular Post Posted September 4, 2020 Unfortunately, this was inevitable to occur. New Zealand, one of the most isolated nations ended up getting it again. Thailand surrounded by several borders. COVID19 is here to stay permanently just like the various strains of influenza, and now various strains of COVID19. It will never disappear. Countries can achieve zero cases and bring a country to its knees, ruining its economy over and over and over with open, shut, open, shut, lockdowns and borders. It gets to a point where governments need to realise this invisible virus is impossible to eradicate forever. People have been wound up into a severe frenzy of hyper-fear, mostly the media to blame. The cracks are emerging. The worst recessions in a century and only to get worse if this zero infection rate goal is kept forever. I hate COVID19 and yes it is more dangerous than usual influenza, but how long can shutdowns keep going for? 6 1
