Top zoo official shot dead while probing missing albino barking deer

In a shocking incident, the director-general of the Zoological Park Organisation of Thailand was allegedly shot dead by a Songkhla Zoo staff on Saturday, while he was investigating the case of a missing albino barking deer.

 

 

The organisation's board chairman, Chawalit Chukhajorn, told Issara News Agency about the alleged murder of Suriya Saengpong.

 

Suriya was promoted to the director-general post in August this year.

 

The staffer who allegedly shot dead Suriya was reported to have later shot himself in his room at the zoo.

 

Thedeerwent missing in February this year. Chawalit set up an investigation committee to look into the case after Songkhla Zoo's director claimed the deer had been swallowed by a python.

So is the possibility that the staff member in desperation to avoid the truth about the missing animal shot the investigator and then himself to protect recipients (his  family) of relatively larges amounts of money and curtailing  any further investigation revealing who received the animal ?

Were there witnesses to the original shooting? Or was the staff member set up and also murdered?

Find the  Butler  quick !

The deer was allegedly only 2 months old, when apparenl eaten by the python. Still too big for the snake though I would imagine. Most likely sacrificed and eaten for some religious mumbo jumbo.

Money and guns can solve everything here.

Muntjac deer are small and a juvenile could be eaten by a large python.

 

Not that I believe this for one minute. Sold or eaten by zoo staff is much more likely.

It was called Dumbo, a slightly unusual name for a Deer though...

Is it me or is petty irregularities or accidents just a common thing here?

Sold to a rich private collector for big bucks is an alternative scenario...

The missing deer was probably illegally sold to a rich Chinese businessman. They seem to think eating rare and endangered animals will give them superpowers.

So the deer is OK

Deer oh deer !

Probably just another example of the appalling attitude to the worth of wild animals too many Asian people, particularly Chinese, and their willingness to exploit and kill them for financial game. Hopefully the worker concerned was involved in the disappearance of the deer and has taken his own and the directors life to avoid bring shame on his family.

No, a big python can swallow animals the size of goats then slither away into cover to digest for weeks. I have seen it with my own eyes.
