Aluminium has a density of 2.7 g/cc. Steel has a minimum density of 7.75 g/cc. Weight is important when one is trying to fly, not so much when floating.

They are a better buy than Toyota as long as you keep it long term, no one wants a used one

In the UK we were told that it was "Against EU rules" for MG Rover to be bailed-out. Part of why it's now Chinese-owned.

They can keep their Chinese doo doo as I avoid anything from China or made from a Chinese company and avoid all business dealings with them now. Well except a romp with a Chinese hottie wouldn't be so bad. And some of them gals are hot. Reality is China does not need a factory outside of China but it helps them get more into other countries..

In the meantime Chevrolet stock has been dumped on the market  big time, Ive managed to buy wheel fender  flares for 1000 baht normally 6500, a  sportsbar normally 21500 for 5500, two sets  of alloy wheels for 7500baht for  all 8  and  a 1.5 door X cab with 300k discount..........happy  as  Larry

Great Wall are much improved from when I first looked at them 10 years ago.

The distrust being shown to China simply by them making their own cars is very strange.

The US (in the middle of an identity crisis),, don't start me,, moved out & is no longer able to produce vehicles at a cost that the 3rd world can afford.

Many years ago I bought a new Datsun 12 Y to which all my friends laughed at.

Then Dad bought a little Honda Civic to which all his Holden, Rover,  Chevie " or Ford driving mates laughed.

Both cars outlasted them.

Now I am driving ,,,you guessed a Honda Civic with 190,000 clicks on it & never missed a beat

One day you might be happy to drive a Chinese made vehicle.

The problem is the short lived chassis for tradies, and also engine refits required at low mileage.  

Toyota has longevity, something GW does not have. so far

There are actually quite large amounts of Steel in Aircraft.

Not the Steel you would make a Tractor out of, but specialist Steels such as Inconel, Titanium, Waspalloy and Super Nimonics.
