How are the bars, restaurants, agogos, massage shops, gentleman clubs and any business doing during covid?

The Seeland Brewery around the corner from Pratumnak and on Thappraya is taking shape. Not quite sure about the location parking wise, and given it's right beside where the police normally set up roadblocks. I wonder what clientele they are going for, it's a bit of a no-mans land where Manhatten not far away tried and failed.

Good luck to them, a successful Hopf house equivalent in the area would be great.

Austrian, in Tyrol? I recall a school skiing holiday there many, many years ago.

Foreigners on-site overseeing the fit out every time I've walked past but I've got no idea from where. Their waistline suggests they've seen a few Octoberfests in their time.

The Cave on LK Metro is switching to a Soi 6 type short time bar. Presumably, there will be young ladies working there.

I didn't know they had rooms upstairs for short time.

The replacement for Ryans Sports Bar on Naklua Rd is not a bank, as I previously thought, but the opening/re-opening of Tiger Bar. It looks like a restaurant will be attached.

Workmen on the premises this morning and furniture in place.

An Indian restaurant  between sois 4 & 5 on  Pattaya Beach Rd is getting ready to re-open.

So which is it? Are they going to be a Soi 6 type short time bar or are they going to have young ladies working there?

Probably done a deal for short time rooms with a nearby hotel or guest house. The one room upstairs will probably be for staff.

While some bars are coming back what about the general environment here. There does not look like anything at all is going on at scenes like this.  Cannot just build another mall over it. Outside of casinos coming in who is going to do anything about all these areas along Beach ( South end)  and 2nd (North end) roads.IMG_20220426_105408.thumb.jpg.1a01d55adc88a596c5a0b29e5b741c55.jpgIMG_20220426_105248.thumb.jpg.6d4a484b45662abbc1849d7107d74f4b.jpg

Nice location and atmosphere. But then this abandoned sidewalks mess right in front. Further up some hotel in undecided stateIMG_20220404_123640.thumb.jpg.c9b705d27acaf58783c1fd22baa946f0.jpgThen this disaster on way to Jomtien.  I guess that "project" at Dusit-pt is taking up all funding now.

Looks interesting but with their high prices i think they will struggle in that location against the likes of Frasers and Hemmingways.

I'll be surprised if it's a success purely because of the location. I suppose I should check it out for one at least now it's open.

Not much private businesses can do about the failings of Pattaya City Council.  They can only renovate what is within their control, which is happening across town as new venues get fitted out and open up.

Hopefully the Thai public will express their displeasure next month at the ballot box, no guarantee a new regime will improve things but surely they can't do any worse than what's gone before.  It's typical old " Strongarm " doesn't have the bottle to be accountable to the public, I guess the loss of face would be too much.

Everywhere.

Not everywhere, my Central Pattaya World seems no different now to what it was in 2019 except Retox has become Hemingways,  the Golf Club is now 'Time' and Tree Town has 1000% growth

Even the Avenue is still powering on when so many people have said it would close pre-covid

I often take a walk through there when in town....powering on is far from the way I would describe it... more desolate. Only action is usually a few customers in Mr DIY.

Any clue why Golf Club LK closed? that was popular, you'd think it would survive covid

The 2 bank branches in The Avenue have closed, hardly a ringing endorsement to activity levels or future prospects, especially since Krungsri thought Central Marina was the better location for them. While I don't go into Villa Market often any time I do there is always only a handful of customers, I can only think maybe there wholesale supply business helps support the store turnover.
