If you want covid 19 to look a very minor problem new series "The Stand" 2020 new weekly episodes coming.

"Contagion" (2011) is frighteningly  close to today's sad reality.

Not watching now but on the radar for launch on the 11th of Feb is Clarice, a series centred on Jodie Foster's character from The Silence of the Lambs. Hope it lives up to the film.

I read somewhere that Jodie Foster didn't speak to Hopkins during the movie (off-screen) because she was terrified of him.

For fans of "classic" police shows I see that there's a fairly new upload of all twelve seasons (261 episodes) of NYPD Blue available at TPB. It's in 1080, downloaded from Hulu and is amazing quality for such a relatively old show. Having decent characters and storylines helps, too.

Great show

FYI all twelve seasons with subs also available from RARBG

So as a total Star Trek Geek, just finished the season 3 finale of Star Trek Discovery.

It took them the first two seasons to find their footing, but season 3 has been awesome, and the finale was the best of all.

Thankfully it's been renewed for season 4, and I for one can't wait.

Watched a really quaint movie called "Minari" and it is about a young Korean family trying to make a go of things in rural USA. Has some English with some subtitles for Korean spoken parts.

I was tempted to turn it off early on, but it was unusual and had a certain "charm" to it, so carried on watching it and was pleased that I did.

You've probably seen The Handmaiden (2016) but if not I think you'll like it:

I am impressed by the acting of Jessie Buckley ( Nurse Mayflower ) in Fargo IV.

( I fact I am impressed by a few actors there, but that's for later )

I therefore watched " The woman in white " mystery/thriller TV period drama,

rather enjoyable.

Will now start " The Last Post " TV serial about British Army life in Aden in the 60's.

Overall I agree season 3 was pretty good and looking forward to 4. But there were 2 or 3 episodes in season 3 that I really got lost in and thought they could have been better,,,,,,,for me downright boring but the season finale was excellent way to close it for the year

I have been watching every episode of NYPD Blue starting at number 1 for the past month or two. I have a lot left to see. Great show all over again,,,,,,,,,Dennis Franz and company really do a superb job.

Me too, I'm on season 8 now, not wishing to "spoil" but it sees the welcome addition af a hot new blonde detective! Sipowicz was a great character (among many) and as you say the cast were superb.

Steven Bochco was a genius, being behind so many great shows, ditto for Dick Wolf, there's an intersting snippet about the two of them here https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/dick-wolf-meeting-steven-bochco-at-age-5-reuniting-hill-street-blues-1099440

A couple of years ago there was talk of Wolf doing a remake but I don't think it went beyond just talk.

The Moment of Truth

New show by the Beeb.
First 5 episodes on RARBG.

Summary: True-crime documentary series telling the story of police investigations, focused on the moment detectives realise they have cracked the case. It may be a DNA match, the moment an alibi is disproven or a dramatic interview room confession.

I see plenty of series/movies named "Moment of Truth", but nothing recent.
