I have noticed many cases of foreigners entering Thailand who tested positive on the first day and even died later in Thailand.

For people who still won't believe that fake Covid-19 free cert can be purchased, here are the proofs.

French police have arrested seven people accused of offering fake negative Covid-19 test certificates to departing passengers at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport.

A man from Luton has been arrested on suspicion of fraud by false representation, in relation to the sale of bogus Covid test certificates.

With COVID-19 tests becoming a common entry requirement for countries and states, a black market has popped up to serve travelers who need test results taken within a few days of departure.

In a statement on Thursday (Jan 28), KPJ Healthcare Berhad said it has been made aware of reports where falsified or counterfeit results slips using Lablink letterheads had been used in the attempt.

Will the same people supply vaccination passports too?

There's no such thing as a vaccination passport - not yet anyway.

The likelihood of fake Covid certificates being available is quite believable.

BUT, which foreigners have arrived in Thailand and died ??? (you mean died in Quarantine?)

It's a good sign these people are getting busted. Proof that a quick photo shop and printer as I predicted are not going to cut it.

Yes of course a few will get in, more to do with luck than good forgery

If fake certificates exist then someone could use one to fly to Thailand.

However,  positive cases in ASQ are likely because a  PCR test 72 hrs before departure can only detect people exposed to covid more than 5-6 days prior to departure. This is becasue of incubation time.

I'm more wondering about the state of mind of people that would buy one of these certificates, knowing it was fake.

If you desperately want to go to Thailand and your Covid test is positive, then buying a fake certificate is reasonable or else you won't be able to board the plane to Thailand.

Maybe that someone wants to be treated in Thailand or desperately need to be with some loved ones in Thailand etc, being infected with Covid is not a death sentence.

I read a report in Bangkok Post recently about a British who tested positive soon after arrival. Note that the result takes a few days to process.

Arrival date: Dec 25 2020

Tested positive: Dec 29 2020

Died: Jan 24 2021

Because he was tested positive during quarantine, he was hospitalized until his death one month later.

The WHO style international vaccination certificate should be good enough. It would be cumbersome to have to carry a separate document for every vaccination one gets.

So you have seen a report of one who died.

There have been plenty of reports of foreigners who tested positive. That doesn’t mean the Covid Certificates were fake, it just means they contracted the disease after their test or close enough to the test that it was not identifiable at that stage.

This is highly sus and sounds like typical fearmongering. Where's your proof? I find it more likely they had covid in the hospital and, being older, unhealthy people, later died from the flu/a car accident/heart attack/stroke/alcohol poisoning/drug overdose.

How about just taking the test instead of turning yourself into a criminal

That would make too much sense.

Tell that to those who have died, oh no you can’t

For a broader reach, tell it to the people who survived.

Because they have already taken the test and tested positive for the virus. That's why they need a fake cert to enter Thailand, is this so difficult to understand?

That isn't as much of a cause you think because:

  * one can contract the virus even 5 minutes later after having taken a test

  * a test can be false-negative

  * one can contract virus  right before arrival, or in Thailand

  * if one wears a mask, then one can contract the virus  more easily versus "without a mask" because gems of the virus get accumulated on a mask

Also, depend on the protocol for a positive the lab follows. Just bc you are positive doesnt mean you are infectious, or in danger. Its just a convention that has been established. Doesn't mean its a good one.
