VIDEO: Road rage driver says: I had to rush home as the girlfriend had prepared dinner

Dash cam footage from an expensive Mercedes Benz showed the moment the driver of minivan cut in front and stopped.

 

The cat and mouse game had been occurring several times before.

 

The necessary abrupt stop of Benz driver Thanjida caused two pick-ups following behind to smash into each other. 

 

Thanjida went to the Phan Thong police with her dash cam evidence. 

 

Yesterday the owner of the transport company that owns the minivan, Pongphan Hongthong, 47, took the driver Theerayuth Phaengyot, 32, to the Phan Thong police. 

 

The boss said that they had taken the van back and would pay for the damage for the other two vehicles. 

 

Meanwhile hapless Theerayuth offered the following in an attempt at mitigation:

 

1. I was not drunk,

 

2. The Benz had honked at me,

 

and 

 

3. My girlfriend had called to say hurry as she had prepared dinner. 

 

The police charged him with negligent driving causing danger and damage to others.

Why does the media have to say he's driving an expensive Mercedes Benz. It's a ****ing CLA from around 2017. You can replace his car for about a million baht.

Sounds like the owner of the van generously offered to let his insurance company pay for the damage to the other vehicles. ????

 

I don't get it. Whatever the motive for the van driver's sudden stop, the following car had plenty of time to react and stop, which they did. If the cars trailing behind weren't able to stop in time, they were probably tailgating, and their failure to react in time would be their problem. Wonder what the van's insurance company is going to have to say about all this.

 

Everything he said was a lie. Not an ounce of truth.

Those two cab drivers need to get their breaks checked or stop tailgating. It wasn't a sudden step on break by the benz. 

None of these videos posted on TVN play for me? They start, play for a fraction of second then close again???

 

Had he gone for 'wife' he might have got away with it.

In the real world that Van driver would be in jail his driving license revoked and his car insurance company would not pay out anything.

Whatever!  Just another day here.  Same old news.

I think it he did have a micro sleep it would turn into an instant nightmare.

On quite a few occasions, like on reading this report and many others like it,  I feel that I am in a land populated by 16 year old, immature, educationally challenged  teenager's, with no adults anywhere around.  Bit like the movie Lord of the Flies.

I bet if it had been a lowly pick up driver like me who complained the police not much would have been done

This is the problem with German brands, I hate that anybody can drive one now, even in Thailand !

Benz a bit better than BMW that are now farmers cars, but someone really need to drive a Ferrari or Lamborghini to be different now.

I wonder why these German cars make killed their image ?! Is profit really better when selling cheap cars to people who could otherwise only afford a Toyota ?

The article didn't say or print that. Read the article again especially the first bold type sentence. 

Why did he have to rush home cos dinner was ready !  We all know that Thais put the food on the table at least 15 minutes before starting to eat so it is always cold. 

The 2 cars that collided were tailgating and at fault...

 

I was stopping for a snake to cross the street is a valid reason to brake....

If missus called me and said your dinners on the stove I would rush home also. Nice when you come in and she sitting in stove.

Why did he stop partly sideways in the middle of the road?  Because they honked or what? 

 

If he married that girlfriend he could get home whenever he wanted and just beat her up if dinner was cold.

What I really want to know is if his girlfriend is hot!
