Young Thai woman's crime spree comes to an end - arrested for armed bank heist in Prachuap Khiri Khan

Daily News reported an extraordinary spree of crime after the woman charged with attempting an armed bank robbery in Prachuap Khiri Khan was caught.

Kannika Sorajan, just 22, allegedly walked into the Muang district branch of the BAAC dressed in black with a full face helmet and brandished a gun.

After a panic she fled with nothing, stealing a motorcycle some distance from the bank at gunpoint.

Pol Col Samer Yusamran, clearly suspecting the identity of the robber, obtained a warrant for her arrest catching her at a house in Ban Nong Bua.

She denied it but her husband told the cops it was her alright.

A motorcycle taxi rider had told the police that a woman had come up to him at the station and asked for his phone number. She then went with him to the Bank of Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives.

After the botched robbery she stole a bike and went to a restaurant where she had stashed her own motorcycle - that also appears to have been stolen.

She fled 30 kms away and did some shopping.

Her past, especially the recent past, contains many extraordinary incidents for such a young woman and is tied up with owing money for online gambling.

When she was a student she was an intern at the same branch where she attempted the robbery. After this she worked at a luxury hotel nearby.

She stole 400,000 baht after being entrusted to take the hotel takings to the bank. It was agreed that she would avoid prosecution after she said she would pay back the money in 20,000 baht monthly instalments.

After the botched robbery she called the hotel to ask for 40,000 baht back that she had already repaid.

On the 20th of February - last Friday - she embezzled 190,000 baht from the leader of a musical band who she swindled over putting the Rao Chana app on a phone. She had been working as a waitress at a special party.

She diverted the money to her own account.

Earlier, as recently as 18th February or last Thursday, she had been working at a garage that checks vehicles for tax renewal purposes. There she had stolen 28,500 baht from her employer, a motorcycle and a gun believed to be the one used in the BAAC robbery attempt.

She has now been charged with attempted armed robbery with considerable evidence proving her guilt despite her denials.

What does this mean?

And if she had a husband presumably she wasn't a 'Tom' as reported yesterday.

So the guy should have just lied to the cops?  That would make him an accomplice....not a smart move.

It was the hotel's money she stole.

"I told her not to come back with less than 500,000 baht. OK boys, take her away."
