What to use as proof of address?

Featured Replies

Nobody mails utility bills and banks do not mail statements et al. Local immigration issues proof of address but, here, they don't mail it they simply give it to you.

Do I now have to drive around hoping for a speeding ticket by camera?

Does your Thai driving licence not have your address on the reverse side?

I used my Thai driving licence as  ID  for my address when  I renewed my passport ,had to get it translated to English,so any Thai wanting  any ID that should do .

In fact, I use my DL all the time for ID ,my bank is always asking for ID .

You could go into a bank and get them to print off a bank statement with your address on it; have done it many times at Kasikorn and Bangkok Bank.

Rental contract.

I get my bank statements, True invoice, statements from foreign banks, all in my name, send to my Thai address.

Even received a "speeding fine", delivered "free of charge" ???? to my address.

Depends a bit for what often the immigration one is required for the more official things. So yea means traveling.

With Krung Sri you can change your address with online banking, making any statement meaningless.

Do you have a rental contract, Yellow book, Pink ID card ?(last two assumes marriage)

Why do the last 2 assume marriage ?

I get my DTAC invoices per email. I just printed one of those invoices and the bank accepted that as prove of address.

You don’t have to be married to have Yellow book or a Pink ID card

Yes it's a problem because almost everything is in my Wife's name. I use correspondence from the UK especially HMRC, DWP, and my pension providors all addressed to me in Thailand. Proof of life to the DWP is a particularly useful one

No, I have both Yellow House Book and pink ID-card, and I've never ever been married...????

No, just go to your local immigration office as ask for a letter to prove your address, they might charge 500 baht for the service, and if you are not already into their system a rental contract might be needed together with a TM30 address report (your landlord should already have done that); as usual, requirements might be different in different provinces.

IOM bank didn't like this. Not on headed notepaper.
