Any cafe buran street cart is preferable to this in my opinion, and will cost you 20 baht for either a large yen or lon. They also make delicious cha lon too ????

The slow walk across Beach Rd to finish the coffee may result in medical expenses.

As well as that tiny cup being cold by the time you make it across...

Really, then you are not doing it right. Everyone gets called khee-niaow in Pattaya nightlife.

7/11 coffee?! That is just sad. If you were up here I would invite you in for a cup. That said, the condo does have a visitor dress code ...

Most kind, but I must admit to being a bit of a heathen, and enjoy a Latte sat comfortably in the Mall, watching the girls go by.

And Starbucks is so bad, that fact that the Starbucks coffee is 20oz. compared to the 4oz. you get at seven means nothing, neither does the availability of a comfortable, air-conditioned seating area.

Starbucks coffee is the ABSOLUTE worst coffee and snacks in the world, and seven has the ABSOLUTE best coffee in the world, and anyone that says otherwise is a poser and wannabe hiso.

Never bought a coffee in either.... and never will !

Or walk accross the road and drink it sat on a chair on the beach.

Then you have to add the cost of the beach chair to it.  Sort of upsets the vale for money argument, doesn't it?

I sit on a beach chair and enjoy a coffee and cake whilst there. Buy from the chair vendor and an instant coffee is 40 Baht, so I do make a saving and enjoy a better quality drink too getting one from 7/11.

Yet you suggested to jacko45 that he has his 7-11 coffee on a extra-cost beach chair?

And seven has the ABSOLUTE best cake on the planet to go along with that great coffee! Not like the baked dog-poo that passed for cake at Starbucks.

And you can even get one the dogs blocking the door at seven to follow you across the street to play on the beach. Try doing that at Starbucks, not a chance.

Tell that to Champers, it wasn't my idea,  I was responding to his suggestion.  I'm not a poseur, I am a hiso.

Storm in a coffee cup.

Chair? Chairs are for posers and wannabe hisos and fat old men that can't get up on their own. It's the <deleted> beach poser, sit on the sand like a man!

Makes the case, recently questioned here, for the squat exercise as part of one's gym routine.

I get my coffee from the same 7/11 on BR; 20 Baht represents great VFM. You can add flavoured syrups for 10 Baht.

Coffee is the loss leader, I guess, as most people make other purchases. I buy a cake, a banana and my ciggies with the coffee.

If you are on Beach Rd, (Soi 13 for me) about 7 am 7eleven is the only option that I know of.

I do not have a discerning palate and coffee is not something I would get worked up about but the first floor at that Starbucks was well worth their prices. Sitting under a shade above the traffic with a view of palm trees, sun, sea and sand made for a pleasant hour in the morning.

Coffee is one thing but how you to drink it is also important: I think paper cups give a disgusting flavour.

Seven used only the ABSOLUTE WORLD'S FINEST plasticized cups that leaves no disgusting flavor like the cheap paper cups used by Starbucks. Starbucks cups cups are actually made from recycled toilet paper which is why the cups taste so nasty.

Starbucks has to be the worst coffee in Thailand, if not the world. I enjoy Coffee World. Amazon is not bad either. But I think Segafredo is the best for espresso.

Many would agree, the coffee is not that great.

But I think SB's success is they've developed a model where it's the coffee drinking environment that has become appealing.

AC, wi-fi, clean bathrooms, and consistency of product and physical lay-out.

And a price-point that keeps out riff-raff ????

The problem with 7 Eleven is size, all coffees are small and if you ask for big it really throws them and adding milk can be problematic.

If I'm wanting a quick coffee sugar hit I go with the 14 baht coffee, proper coffee I go out of town
