Moderna vaccine to be available from October

Moderna just delayed shipments to Canada, the UK and OZ.  They'd already ordered and paid for the jabs.  I think they're no looking at deliveries sometime in December.  I'm guessing our delivery of Moderna will be in 2022.

 

And by then, the Indian variant will be here and we'll need boosters...or different jabs.

Here we go again!  This whole issue does not pass the smell test??  It is mid-May, the Thai FDA has already given EUA to the Moderna vaccine and now it will take until October for anyone to get their 'jab' at a private hospital?  How completely ridiculous and inept is the government (we already know) and/or Zuellig not to be able to expedite the importation of the Moderna vaccine.  None of this (as usual) makes any sense.

Oct is a dream date for delivery. Australia has ordered millions of doses and they won't get it till th end of 2021. I'd suggest 2022 getting here.

Private hospital finances can’t be controlled by the government , unlike a vaccine budget . So approve something but then tell people they can’t have it until such a time they have waited that long they will have been forced to have the government one . ????

We either get the Astra Zenica or Sinovac vaccines for which we cannot register for at the moment and are way down the queue, they also do not have enough supplies for much of the population OR we get the Moderna vaccine currently unavailable until October, because the government didn't order it.

So many questions, and so few answers.

1. Why five months away?

2. Why not Pfizer in the interim?

3. Why can't the private sector import the vaccines directly? Why does the stunningly incompetent government and health ministry need to be involved?

4. Why was there seemingly no planning, when it comes to the vaccination program?

5. Is this really the best they can do?

6. Why has Anutin not been replaced? His political connections aside, Thailand really needs competent leadership at this emergency juncture.

7. Is the government here (and possibly worldwide) totally bought and paid for, by Big Pharma?

8. Do the people of Thailand finally see how they have been misled, mishandled, bamboozled, forsaken, and abused by the hapless army, and the goons in charge? If they could not see it before, it is so obvious now.

In terms of making sense of what is going on, you need policy, competent ministers with experience in the fields their ministries are in charge of, and at least a tiny amount of vision and planning. Prayuth lacks every pre-requisite. So do most of his ministers. Especially Anutin and Pipat. Likely the two least qualified and least effective of the lot. One would think during a national emergency, a skilled and talented tourism and  health minister would be considered important. None of these guys inspire confidence, none have any follow up in their game, none are sincere, and all are grossly incompetent and under qualified for the job.

 

One would think after 6 plus years Prayuth has had time to learn. That does not appear to be the case. He is a terrible leader. 


This kind of national emergency is real proof that Thailand should never allow another coup to happen. With a civilian government that is democratically elected, and a truly representative body in the senate, Thailand at least has a chance of qualified ministers being appointed based on merit and talent. With Prayuth and this army, there is little chance of this ever happening. They are re-defining the words cronyism and inept on a daily basis. 
 
Where is the anger? I am becoming furious at the incompetence and the AA (army apathy) and BOB (bottom of the barrel) appointments. Am I the only one?

They can see but they won't do anything. Where many countries in the past have  had their citizens rebel knowing full well it will cost lives, here , apart from a handful, Thai men are lacking in "backbone". Witness the 10 on 1 fights regularly reported. The reports from "Desert Storm" where Thai troops, part of the international force, were confined to cleaning and cooking duties due to  concerns they could not be relied upon as a fighting force. All manner of things indicate that nothing will happen.  Of course if the Thai women get motivated that could be another story.????

500 Bht surcharge for 2 syringes, a person to administer 2 shots, the paperwork required to produce a certificate, a place to be in while being administered, waste removal  & disposal of used medical waste blah blah
