BANGKOK (NNT) - The government is developing a vaccination registration app, especially for foreign residents, as there has been confusion about the registration process among expats, migrant workers and other foreigners.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs deputy spokesperson Natapanu Nopakun said mass vaccinations could begin as soon as next week, as supplies have arrived earlier than expected. The inoculation program will move ahead quickly once they are distributed.

He said that, even if foreign nationals do not make bookings using the Mor Prom application, they will be eligible to use walk-in vaccination services as soon as they are officially opened, adding that any provinces that are ready to provide the vaccines on a walk-in basis can commence operations immediately.

Mr Natapanu added that authorities would like to make services to foreigners available in English and other languages if possible, to avoid any miscommunication.

  • Will this require a TM.30, a TM.47, a bank statement showing 800k (on the morning you register) and a hand drawn map to your house/condo?

Any positive news is always suspect because it never happens. Talk is cheap and actions speak louder than words. Thailand has an indisputable reputation of loads of big talk and zero action.

More bad news for the "Thailand hates foreigners" crowd...free vaccines and an app in English.

A positive step in the right direction, it seems that the willingness to include foreigners is there, let's up hope that that it will lead into action and not just empty words...

And a ATM card or a fist full of cash.

Isn't that what they said about the online 90 day reporting app? How long did it take to actually work? I don't have enough time left to wait till the next decade starts.

Good news if the promise is delivered.

I didn't read where it is free, but hope it is. Also, the will try (if possible) to make the app in English. Also, if you've been in Thailand for a while, you will know that what the gov't says and what actually happens are two different things, especially when it comes to expats.  I'll believe it when I see it is the best way to avoid disappointment.

Soon, after all Thai are soon vaccinated with the vaccins that willsoon arrive, then, soon after, when Saturn and Jupiter align, we willbe vaccinated with ..... we will tell you soon.

Just allow private hospitals to import, through the Ministery, the Pfizer vaccins, and sell them at inflated prices. I am more than willing to pay for myself and my family, as  i lost confidence in anything organised by this government.

The free vaccines for foreigners has been stated previously by govt ministers (Chinese or AZ). Is over 20 years long enough to know anything about Thailand? As to your last point, it's a good one and applies to all situations anywhere.

So I guess what they said about Foreigners going last was fake news.

Right, stated previously. I'm sure it could not change!

I thought we would be getting walk in vaccines ?

No ? All change again ?

If designing a decent , easy to navigate app was an olympic event , Thailand would not be a participating country.

Done by the same hiso IT team that brought you 90 day reporting.

yes, the last thing I want is the app not working then being sent to the monkey house

It'd be ironic that this was the first ever functioning app the goverment has ever released.

  • Popular Post

More Blah-Blah-Blah. It's always talk about something they're planning on doing in the future. I couldn't care less about their stupid app or a free inferior vaccine. I just want to go to a private hospital and pay for myself and my wife to get vaccinated with a vaccine of our choice. Hopefully we will be able to do so soon.
