Daily News reported that the director of Huay Kwang district had ordered his administration to file charges with Makkasan police over the Miss Grand Samut Sakhon 2021 beauty pageant that was held at the end of June at the Mirin Theatre, RCA.

Deputy met commander and spokesman Pol Maj-Gen Piya Tawichai said Sunday that charges were filed on Friday.

Pictures that circulated in the media showed participants including beauty queens, organisers, sponsors and others not social distancing and not wearing masks.

The event had permission to be held but Anuchit Phiphithakul said that protocols were not followed as agreed.

Thirteen beauty queens and 49 of their attendants tested positive for Covid-19 following the event on June 26th-27th.

High profile celebrity and Miss Grand International Organiser Nawat Issarakraisin is one of those under scrutiny.

Thai media press reports suggested he had tested positive for coronavirus.

Is that in the same manner of filing charges against the brothel VIP club owners in Thonglor - where ALL of this started?

funny indeed, a beauty pageant allowed to go ahead, would they be expected to judge based on the beauty of the mask... lol . an outdated sexist misogynistic notion probably allowed by dinosaurs for their own perverse enjoyment, very, very reminiscent of the earlier outbreaks and a sure sign of where their brains are loosely contained ????????????

He is Batman most of the time.

If Colin is Batman you must be the other one who wears underpants on the outside... [just to save time in getting them off]

They weren't "all bunched up" and they were eating, something everyone is allowed to do without a mask.  I suppose that you eat with a mask on, do you?

You mean feeding at the trough at our expence, don't you? It appears the ministers all came by public airlines. Wouldn't you think the top brass would have a military aircraft at their disposal for official functions?

What kind of clown show are they running?

If there was ever an opportunity to become a zillionaire selling maps to a quarantine location...  And fake positive tests.

People are still falling for the Are Tee Pea head fake. All of this started when certain cheap laborers were escorted into the country by the truckload without any quarantine or health screening.

Bangkok’s Makkasan police are in the process of summoning four groups of people for questioning over the holding of the “Miss Grand Samut Sakhon 2021” pageant, at Mirinn Theatre RCA in Huai Khwang district, on June 26th and 27th, for allegedly breaching of terms under which the event was to be held.

13 contestants and their 9 chaperones, as well as Director of the Miss Grand International organizing committee Nawat Issarakraisin, were later found to be infected with COVID-19 and admitted to hospitals for treatment.

Pol Maj-Gen Piya Tavichai, deputy commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, said today that the Makkasan police have already questioned Huai Khwang district office and disease control officials about the beauty contest.

No, that's not what I meant.

You have no idea who paid for their food but if they're entitled to claim it as an official expense, so what?    That would not affect you in any way whatsoever.

They're civil servants, what's the problem with their using "public airlines"?
