When will the talk of procuring vaccines stop and the actual delivery begin and vaccinations move onward.  It gets tired hearing the mundane BS as cases continue onward.  My condolences to families who have lost a loved one.  Be safe folks.  Glad some have been vaccinated.

Because'talk of' is the nearest you’re gonna get to a vaccine

But the 9,077 general population cases portion of that showed a modest decline from the comparable numbers of 9,188 reported Wednesday and 9,107 reported Thursday.

No, there is no decline.

What you're seeing here is likely due to limited testing capacity.

I've got the feeling that today is one of the last few days of 4-digit infection numbers. We're bound to crack the dreaded 10,000 and will probably stay well above for weeks to come. Brace for impact, ladies and gentlemen, stay safe.

Apparently even the talks with some companies haven't even started....

"The news comes as Pfizer and Germany's BioNTech denied on Thursday that they were in talks with Thailand's Thonburi Healthcare Group Pcl for a deal to import 20 million doses"

That will only occur if they test more.

If they keep to current rate of testing and perhaps even cut/stop testing in camps then the numbers in the 9k could remain and give the appearance of some success with controls in Red areas.

That's most likely not the case.

From today's meeting it seems those restrictions may even be extended.

If testing/infection rates/death counts are unreliable....then there really is no need to report on it, qnd certainly no need to have hundreds of postings by expats on the topic. It is what it is. Better to find something more interesting to pass ones time.

Yep its ridiculous to get hung up on the daily reports , they are simply not accurate.

Best anybody can do is multiply the reported cases / deaths by a factor of 3 or 4 and draw conclusions from that .

The Covid-19 taskforce gave the greenlight to providing people with the Sinovac vaccine as the first jab and the AstraZeneca vaccine as the second jab, said the taskforce’s assistant spokeswoman. It also resolved to give AstraZeneca booster shots to medical personnel.

Well, that’s the nail on the head right there. How to make decisions on a path forward when using corrupted data?

seat of the pants is as good as it gets from here, in fact has been for a while.

About 9 months ago there were a number of shills on here defending Thailand's (non) testing policy.

" Tests dont matter " , they said .

My response was that without mass testing one cannot gather reliable data and without accurate data one could not plan effectively.

I rest my case !

It seems much is being done, or in the case of test numbers not being done, to keep it below 10,000. Wonder how long they can keep that lid on?

Spot on. The 10,000 figure is a psychological one for them. They will keep 'cooking the books' as long as possible before admitting the real number of cases which must be around 25k a day. I personally know of so many confirmed cases that it impossible nationwide to be what they claiming it to be.

Police raided a hotel in Bangkok’s upscale Watthana area on Friday and arrested almost two-dozen people found partying inside.

Police were informed at 1am that a birthday party was raging at the hotel. Gatherings of more than five people were banned last week in Bangkok as rising Covid-19 infections spurred a tightening of restrictions.

Thonglor police arrived at the hotel in the early hours of Friday to find a group of 21 people partying loudly.

The partygoers were screened for drug use by urine tests, some of which came back positive, said police. All 21 participants were charged with violating the emergency decree, with drug charges tossed in for those who tested positive.

If the French Government can pop a big box of little bottles onto an aeroplane to save their countrymen and women, then why can't the Thai Government get some boxes of little bottles from Phizzer, Moderna, etc etc????

And why can't the USA, Australia, the UK and others do the same thing as the french!?

Has the whole world gone mad or is it only the Thai big wigs?

The 7 provinces added to the list are Chon Buri, Chachoengsao, Rayong, Ratchaburi, Udon Thani, Surin, Ubon Ratchathani. The spokesperson says those provinces are now classified as dark red zones because the number of daily infections has exceeded 100.

WHO presses China for more transparency on outbreak origins

The World Health Organization’s chief urged China to be more transparent over its data on the origins of the Covid-19 outbreak in the country, while admitting that ruling out the possibility of a laboratory leak in Wuhan had been premature.

“We ask China to be transparent and open and to cooperate,” Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the WHO director-general said at a news conference on Thursday.

Two of the additional #COVID19 measures being considered by the govt for Metro Bangkok are permitting people to leave homes only on Mon, Weds & Fri and shutting down supermarkets plus restaurants on alternate day. Be prepared folks. #Thailand

Won’t that make it busier and more crowded on the open days?
