I wasn't really fussed in getting it or not but if it means i dont have to quarantine if im fully vaccs as in the case where i work in Oman, i can now go to Dubai or any other middle east country without quarantine, well go without saying Covid vaccine yes please.

 

Oman has fully opened up now, if you have not had a vaccine you cannot go to malls, government offices, airport nothing, its the way the world is going.

By 'anti vaxxers' do you now mean the millions of kids in the UK that will now more than likely NOT be vaccinated? Or are you referring to those that, after having TWO jabs and hearing the latest is it will only give 50% protection REFUSE the boosters?? Who are you talking about? Vaccines have been a part of all our lives since we were born. As kids, we simply had no choice but to have them.I trust the science and find the conspiracy theorists ridiculous.

 

All this talk about untried and untested etc from people who, many would think nothing, of 10 pints of lager, 20 cigarettes and a McDonalds for dessert. They moan about what is getting put into their bodies and eat junk food day in, day out.

 

Of course it's been rushed through, however, science has improved leaps and bounds since the days of Louis Pasteur and all the old great people before us.

 

Checks and tests can be done more quickly and sure, nothing is 100% safe. We are looking after the majority and the majority have no adverse effects to the vaccine. It's saving lives and reducing hospitalizations.

 

I was pro vaccine before and will remain so now, and in the future.

Children excluded  but not adults who have been offered the vaccine . Asking questions is acceptable and most are answered by well informed medical persons  . Please tell us about your medical knowledge that has any credence to be included in this forum or are you just another conspiracist lamb ?

Seriously though, some theories are so close to fact they are ‘as good as proven’ and others so far removed from fact their improbability are almost certain.

I am sharing information from the 'authorities' in the UK. I dont need to be a doctor to do that. Are you a doctor? YOu are also taking information from people more informed in these matters than yourself. Do you need to be a doctor to interpret it? Seems you already have interpreted the information you have found. I am telling you the UK's strategy will likely change dramatically. If you watch the video with quotes from the 'authorities' you will see that the vaccines efficacy is being heavily questioned, the need for mass testing of well people being heavily questioned AND the need for vaccinating children heavily questioned. No, I am not a doctor but I am listening to how this narrative is changing. Many dont like the changes which I see as inevitable. 

 

Therapeutics, which have been shunned will now be more important than ever. I hope now, after all this time they start really looking into it.

I registered the day they opened the site, I got my vaccine date last saturday for next week, they dont tell you what vaccine they will allocate for you but if its the chinese one I will be walking out after tellng them where they can stick it, I have also booked and paid for moderna so will get that as the second shot if the first one is pfizer or AZ or as both if the govt try to give me the chinese one

I changed my wife and a few neighbours minds by going for the village walk in for SV and AZ. She was 100% sure she would die if she got SV due to a heart issue in her youth, believing all the village gossip.

 

I got fed up waiting on notifications from the web registrations, and decided to follow advice I read many times to take the first one offered. I had tried for 3 months solid, exploring vax options every day. I tell you SV or not, we both feel relieved to have done this, and it looks like the mix and match may turn out to be a solid choice, time will tell.

 

When the neighbours seen me and my mia farang go, they joined the next day. Pretty sure we influenced them subliminally.

The latest research suggests that the difference in spreading virus particles is not that great between vaccinated and non-vaccinated individuals. It looks like herd immunity will never be reached, so a vaccination is only benefits vaccinated themselves and does not help to prevent the spreading very much. So earlier I was a supporter of an obligation for vaccination, now it is just up to people themselves if they want to catch corona, like smoking, getting fat, sedentary lifestyle etc. So for society the only problem is the burden of non-vaccinated corona patients for the hospitals, but that is basically the same for smokers etc. So non-vaccinated put themselves at risk. When they catch corona they have a significantly high chance of needing ICU or a coffin. It is not a smart choice, but it is up to them. The up-side is that - based on principles of evolution by selection - the average world IQ will go up a few points.

I think current anti vaxers suffer from some type of mental illness.  Conspiracy theorists, illogical, I am in shape and better then others braggarts, and truly weak/twisted minds.  So many stories about these types sucking on ventilators their last breathe pleading to then take the vaccine.  Seems sick and demented.

I agree, once everyone who can be has had the opportunity to be vaccinated then anti-vaxxers should go to the back of any hospital queue, however once that time arrives, the unvaccinated should not have their movements restricted in any way (other than to take a rapid test in certain scenarios) as its been shown that vaccinated can still catch and spread the virus with similar virus loads.

Why is that those ‘claiming latest research’ only ever post without a link, without anything to back up their claim and when they do its never a reliable source such as the CDC, WHO, LANCET or anything Peer Reviewed ???

 

Dick Z... I do agree with your assertion that IF the spread of virus is equally probable from Vaccinated and Non-Vaccinated people then taking a vaccine in the first places comes down to personal choice rather than community choice.

 

However, that is a big ‘IF’... Additionally, when it is already proven that vaccinated people are protected from contracting the virus (and testing positive for) Covid-19 in the first place (i.e. 95% of those dual vaccinated with Pfizer) then their already is a far lesser possibility of community spread. Add to this fact that for those who do contract Covid-19 do so to a far lesser degree (minimised symptoms), they are carrying less viral load and gain, the risk of transmission, or degree of transmission is again minimised as a result of the vaccine. 

 

Even IF as you stated above there is a risk of transmission from vaccinated people, it is clearly far less. Any research which states otherwise needs to contradict what is already understood of viral load.

 

Ultimately if 50% (Sinovac) to 95% (Pfizer Moderna) vaccinated individual do not contract Covid-19, they cannot spread it (*Note, the efficacy figures quoted above are pre Delta variant figures). 

 

Also note: That while I did make the comment for ‘sources’ to reference your claim, I do not think it necessary to provide sources of efficacy and the rest of my comment as this is widely understood and readily available information, whereas we have to dig a lot deeper to source information that the risk of spread of Covid-19 is relatively equal between vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals.
