Celibacy is very underrated in our present culture.

Please do not knock it unless you have first tried it.

I have tried it, for 20 years.

I first knocked it and enjoyed it, and been knocking it for the last 50 + years.

My ole man said if it ain't broke don't try to fix it... he was smart.

The trouble being that normal people dont see the fun in being infantile and a smartarse.

:cheesy:

Define "normal".

Does "normal" exist in humans?

I've known a lot of people in my life, and I would struggle to identify any as some sort of "normal", as that would imply that a majority of people were similar.

i have been reading that a lack of ejactulation is a cause of prostate problems in men.

I can guarantee that is BS, unless I was different to every other man that had prostate problems.

Some of the foreigners living in Thailand lived a life of celebacy for decades before moving to SE Asia. Some of them were even married during some of that time. So I am not sure you are preaching to the right audience.

In fact, lifestyle changes are not that difficult.

One can, for example, swear off chocolate pudding or crab cakes, for life, and reap positive consequences.

Don't just go with the flow if you think you might live a better life by finding a better way.

Would you not wish for a more stress-free lifestyle which is far easier to attain than conversion to vegetarianism

I became vegetarian at 17 by deciding to do so.

That was several decades ago

Not hard at all.

For some celibacy is even easier to achieve-all they have to do is start talking and they are left alone.

No, the problem with the prostate is that it never stops growing. When man's life expectancy was only only around 40 years that wasn't a problem. Now we're living into our 70s and more, it has become a problem.

Prostate issues are not terribly selective, but instead randomly common among guys of particular age groups.

The best science has yet to conquer an understanding of why all this comes about as well as it's varying severity in some yet not others.

Count your blessings that you might never have to experience such issues.

You'll be knowing that REAL MEN/MANLY MEN don't go unscathed. ????

You say you tried it for 20 yrs , So now you're Not .

Maybe ok for some . So is being a RK Priest but look what they do.

As for me one lives only Ones ,Make the most of it in a decent way if one can.

People and other animals are on this planet to Multiply for the next generation and to enjoy life.

If you don't like thats fair enough just don't expect it from anyone else.

Celibacy? Not for me thank you,now that i am a little older i no longer would like to

hump any good looking girl i see but i still enjoy looking.

I would need Lupron or Zoladex or something like that to even attempt to be celibate,

but i enjoy being a man.

Back to the OP ,from another topic i gather he does not really want to be celibate,he is in Love

in my opinion for a man love and lust can be the same.

If you can't be with the one you love, love the one your with!

Error. I just looked up the definition of celibacy and according to google it's abstaining from sex AND marriage.

Surely they are both the same?

TBL’s point about the Catholic Church is a valid point, how does the OP advise people to be celibate when it is forced upon them and not a choice ??

Also, forgive my ignorance but, is celibacy only abstinence from the actual act of lovemaking/fornicating or is it total abstinence from any form of “ pleasures of the flesh “ ?

Can 5 minutes with the Victoria Secret catalogue and a jar of hand cream be classed as “ falling off the wagon “ ?

In the Catholic Church I'm told celibacy only counts if its with adults.
