looking to buy an electric three or four wheel vehicle

Looking for informed info about where to buy and what is available in good quality in Thailand.  Getting one to use for very short, less than 6 kilometers, trips around the village.  Am tired of using the motorbike for these errands and backing the car out of the gate and then closing it only to repeat this upon return.  Also my thirteen y/o could use it to go to the store and friends houses without asking me to take her each time.

Any knowledge to share??

Quite popular in our town. We have one place that kind of specialises in them.Alot look like invalid carriages but some are not bad.The local Vet uses one alot.Hers is a 3 wheeler.

Seem to be all Chinese kit from what I have seen.

Bound to be other dealers around, check the motorcycle shops ! What area are you in ? Might help .

And would the insurance company, if you have it, pay for any damage to my car if she ran into it, or ran someone over who could not hear it coming please?

What are you confused with kwonitoy?

Plenty of shops up my way selling them and scooters now. Big C has them for sale here.

90 yo father in law has a 3 wheeler that the family bought him 2 years ago. I think it cost them 29k baht.

Its still going strong. He rides it out to his farm and back plus to the temple daily. The battery's are still good and they're supposed to last 60 km.

I bought one of these off Lazada. They are great, top speed is around 35kph and I get around the 70 kilometres out of a full battery, it is a 2 seater and you have a small basket on the front and the back.

As other posters have said, there is plenty of choice. None of these things can be registered (or insured) of course. But that is fine if you keep below 30 km/he and use locally (e.g. the police won't bother you).

No idea. Some Chinese brand. I see plenty of the same design/manufaturer sold  everywhere.

His can carry 2 adults plus baby seat and handlebar basket  or fold up for 1 adult with extra carry space.

Ok, IraqRon it is a U888 and if you go on Lazada now and just type U888 in the search it will come up with this model and at the moment there are a few sellers with them for just under 16k. I am very happy with mine.

why would they need insurance

just be like Thais, no insurance, tax or licence, but no problems

Been hit twice by idiots in the village without insurance. Both times they have paid for repairs

And if she hits and kills someone?

Is it OK by you to drive without the necessary insurance & licence?

So below 30 kph you cannot injure/kill anyone?

That's what most Government's have decided in setting non-licensing limits for e-bikes.

A flame and a reply have been removed.

Makro in Pattaya have a good selection of these from small two seat ones up to miniature Tuk Tuk look a likes I assume other Makro stores will have them as well

If in Pattaya, you can find at the Makro south of Thappassit further down from the Lotus they have about a dozen or so models including a four wheel one that seat 4, the 3 wheel model shown earlier on another post. They also have scooters I noticed the price runs for the 4 wheel big one at 45,000 everything else is less.

I also noticed them at Home Pro but they don't have as large a selection as Makro.  Good luck I'm not ready for me yet but soon!
