Sydebolle
The story gets better by the hour ........... Mr. Rudolf and his wife were not home during the raid so police had the village headsman and a prominent local monk accompany them for the raid for transparency reasons. And guess what they found out - the 300,000 Baht were meanwhile really missing as nowhere to be found. Throw the Swiss culprit into the slammer, do an 8,000 quickie of a funeral of the poor robbed one who b0nked the Swiss' wife for years and compliment each other for having solved the case. Someone though will have to explain the Swiss dude in jail, what had happened to him as his, most likely true, self-defense story did not fly among Udon's finest and the prominent local man of the cloth! 2
Popular Post ronster
Yeah because the first thing you do after knocking out and tying up a guy that was pointing a gun at you in the middle of the night is search his pockets for cash !! ???? Pretty scary though that they got a search warrant so quickly for something so stupid sounding and with nobody there when they searched the house .But then searched the place after picking up a monk and a local guy who thinks he has power due to a bit of cloth round his waist . ???? 5 1

Starting to sound like the entire family knew of the "romance" and tried to do-away with the Swiss man, when that backfired they're now trying to seek vengeance by saying the Swiss man stole the money. 7

Popular Post james1943
so a man with 300,000 baht on him climb a wall and try to rob another man. WOW who in their right mine would ever believe a story like this. The mother should be arrested for lying to the police and the Swiss man should sue the mother for calling him a theft and causing more trouble for him.

Who cares what dead man's mother claims he may or may not have had cash wise? That he previously "had" 300k baht does not mean a thing in this story. This story is centered around an armed intrusion into another mans home period. Bottom line any intruder found with a gun in my house at night will be found there in the morning (albeit motionless) Side Show: This Thai man was supposedly having an affair with the Swiss mans wife....Now he shows up after midnight with a gun in the Swiss mans house? Guess what the plan actually was at that point? Now dead Thai man's mother makes a claim the dead man had 300k baht & what?? Udon Police visit Swiss man why? They think maybe he set it all up? Had Thai man appear at his home with gun & 300k so Swiss could rob him? Amazing Thailand ...if the deceased intruder had around 300k on him; why would he want to do an armed robbery for more? Not sure why the alleged shooter threw the gun in the drink, maybe his missus did...after all, if he left it there at the scene, would give more weight to his story! Popular Post Bangkok Barry
I always make a point of carrying 300,000 baht with me when I climb over a neighbour's wall at midnight, and I always carry a gun in case he wants to take the 300,000 from me. The victim's family are just acting typically Thai. They dream up a story but are totally unable to think it though and realise what an idiotic story it is. And to make it even more ridiculous, the police believe it might be true and obtain a search warrant to search for the cash. But then, just remember the IQ level in Thailand....... Could have been panic, or he didn't trust the wife not to finish the job she paid for and do it herself (more likely). Popular Post GBW
So, obviously there is person walking around out there with a 300,000 thb receipt, 'Chanote' and a transfer of title from the Lands Dept. complete with the dead mans signature. If not, dead mans mum is telling porkies and could be liable, not to mention completely immoral.
thailand49
When you scrape the bottom of the trash bin that is exactly what you will find. A Thai guy ( in general ) carrying a gun with 300,000 baht dig a bit deeper as to where the money might have come from to buy the so call land. Right now since this story came out with the admission of the wife prior behavior and habits she knows much more than she is coping too ( something smells ) When this is over I highly suggest the Swiss get rid of her. Asleep I think the plan was when she was awoke it would have been here husband dead their plan backfired????????? Popular Post Gecko123
Just so people understand... ...the family's allegation that 290,000 baht went missing weren't just made up out of thin air and the police had to obtain a probable cause search warrant before conducting the search. The deceased guy did in fact sell one rai of land for 290,000 to a couple in the village back in mid-September. They paid 40,000 as a down payment at the time of the sale, and the balance of 250,000 was paid on October 1rst, the day before he died. This has been documented by the couple who purchased the land, who have not only provided the police with signed copies of the sale contract, but even had photos documenting the payment of the money to the deceased. His carrying a gun at the time of the incident could at least in part be explained that it was for protection because he was carrying a large sum of money on his person at the time. There is a shroud of mystery over these events which the police are trying to unravel. Was the intruder there to murder the husband, rob the husband, or there for a late night booty call and inadvertently encountered the husband having a late night cup of coffee? Was he there at the invitation of the Swiss guy's wife? The police are also grappling with some inconsistencies between the physical evidence at the scene and Rudolph's account of what happened. Specifically, they are questioning why Rudolph had almost no injuries from the altercation while the intruder sustained substantial injuries to both his head and torso, why there were no signs of a struggle or damage to anything in the kitchen, and why Rudolph didn't use the intruder's gun to subdue him once he had gotten it away from him. There may also be issues about whether any of the injuries were sustained after the intruder was no longer a threat. What the wife's relationship with the intruder was, what contact she had with him in the days leading up to the incident, or if she played any role during or after the incident also need to be investigated. In my opinion, this high profile case is extremely complex, and with the death of the intruder, it will probably be even more difficult to solve. I don't envy the police their job. The police appear to be proceeding in a methodical and thorough manner, and I think the peanut gallery potshots about the job they have done so far have very little merit. 9 1 9
