What can I say,  maybe I am totally wrong and the roads are safe.  I thank you for your positive comments though and will take due notice of them.

You no need say anything buddy I understand people here who find the Thai roads dangerous it's a fair call, worse in some places in Thailand than others.

Being and advanced motorcycle rider and teaching people in UK, some people can pick up motorbike skills and some can ride but will always be deleted. ????

People do look at them as they ride past.  The rider thinks they think he's cool when in fact the are thinking what a <deleted>!

  • 1. The answer is easy to understand they like to personalize their bikes. 2. Tuning usually comes with a louder sound than OEM supplied. 3. Some tail tidies are aesthetically better looking

No, the roads are not safe. But, awareness, anticipation, and experience can keep you relatively safe. Get back on, Khastan.

My bike is mapped for performance and a free-flowing exhaust is just a part of the equation. Consequently, my pipes are loud -- very loud when I want them to be, like when alerting inattentive drivers that I'm within striking distance. I can "baby-walk" the bike fairly quietly when need be. Another benefit came to me by happenstance one day: I had an aggressive dog rushing at me while turning onto a country lane. I pulled the clutch and revved a few quick ones. The dog stopped in its tracks, fear frozen on its face, turned tail and ran straight back to the safety of its loving master, sitting on the porch, also shaken by the ferocity of my machine.

Better than being some of the continuous complaining old crusties here.

Nothing wrong with liking something and having an interest in motorbikes.

Very true, but very loud pipes,  60+ year old children i think.

don't need loud pipes to go fast or to love motor bikes.

Given that 98.8% of the posters on this thread have never been to a MotoGP or a WSB race meeting they have no idea what loud exhausts really sound like. Ironically it is the Asia Cup bikes that make the most noise. As they go slower and spend more time adjacent to the listener. The quick bikes whiz by and are gone.

But it is true that one doesn't even need to go fast to enjoy motorcycles.

Personally when it comes to exhaust noise it has to be a nice noise. ????

My bike is an older bike so they are and were more noisy than reg controled bike today.

It is still within decibel level allowed in Thailand.

They were nice sounds to  motorbike luvers.

Nah, Has to be 3-Cyl.

why do thai pickups have no rear bumper?   i never got that one.  arent bumpers protecting occupants from death in a crash?

Maybe for you with your earplugs but a Triumph 3 cylinder sounds better than a MV IMO. ????

Its all to do with compression , cam timing, crank angle,  etc. 3-cyl is half a 6.????

Moto2 is Triumph. Last one I went to was 2019 Sepang.

Please reference above. How could you possibly come to that conclusion?

So they can fit more exhaust cans that make it louder, make it whistle on gear changes, and spew great clouds of black smoke, thereby giving the impression that a jumbo jet just landed on the highway.

I can't hear Kwasaki load exhaust because I'm listening to my music or is it my exhaust is toooo load

if it were up to me - any bike with an after market / loud exhaust  would be seized by the Police - the exhaust removed and crushed - Then the only way to get the bike back would be to fit a stock exhaust, pass a DB test and pay fine plus bike strorage / removal costs....

i for one hate loud exhausts and the smug & selfish so snd so's who fit them to their bikes without giving a kipper's dick for other people's feelings...

"loud pipes save lives" total and utter borrocks ...

People who post about loud exhausts strike me as being ...

P'ing and Moaning, Whining and Sniveling bunch of Supercilious Yahoos

H.D. owners and bigger bike owners with older bikes would not agree with you its an unreasonable and unfair thing to suggest. ????
