116 partygoers arrested in Bangkok’s red light district for allegedly gathering, drinking, breaking Covid-19 rules

Featured Replies

Aside from what happened at XOXO, you have to say that Thailand with all it's potty rules re: the covid situation is looked upon as a complete joke.

It's sad really????

Soi 12 is red light district????

You beat me to it!

And out of curiosity, considering the location, how many of those 27 foreigners are Korean?

Not sure how they managed to get past the crowds of people frequenting all the other unopen bars in the area to make their arrests.

A word to the wise people, only frequent bars with clear cut police connections.

All the alcohol ban has accomplished is to increase traffic deaths

And your source and the figures to back that claim are?

...non-existent.

Currently, all bars and nightlife are closed countrywide and restaurants are not allowed to sell alcohol

Unless your venue is owned by the police, like Bamboo Beach Pattaya (https://www.facebook.com/BambooBeachPattaya???? you can do whatever you want.

Regardless of who you claim owns it, that appears to be a restaurant and restaurants are allowed to be open.

Nobody talks about BTS and buses, they're packed every day, no social distance

No one's getting intoxicated on the BTS and buses or breaking the curfew!

BTW, that's NOT any kind of "red light district" location.

Apart from the happy ending massage shops and the street prostitutes.

2 weeks left to open the country to tourism, and they are still punishing their own people that wish to party. Great! That´s solid!

Literally no joy left in LOS.  Chicago in winter is starting to seem more appealing as we at least have good "agricultural offerings" albeit expensive as F!@#

Sounds like another big party that I am glad I did not attend.

I can imagine the noise of the music alone would have been enough to give me

a big head ache.  I bet most people including the Thais can hardly wait for the big opening on November 1st, err December 1st.

Well would you believe, January 1st.

Geezer

after 2 years and all the available data...the whole thing is a farce.

That's what happens when you ask Pattaya News to write about Krung Thep. They know as much about the lovely capital as we know about their hell hole.

So what really happens to farang who get "prosecuted" - kick out of country or just pay fine?

The ref is obviously to the numerous karaoke bars full of young women on the upper floors of Korea town. The women strangely often leave with their customers. after a drinking session......

Isn't Cabbages and Condoms on Soi 12? Surely a Santa made out of condoms makes it a redlight district. 555
