Remember when all domestic flights were cancelled a few months ago? I am still waiting on my refund, Good luck with "...refund on the way,..."

Received it today, in the form of credits, which I used from another cancellation, (When the last flights where cancelled, as you stated), no problem with Air Asia, may be a different story for cash refunds though. Cheers.

  • What a massive shock this is.   So unexpected. I thought hundreds of thousands would be swamping the airports and ASQ and SHA hotels.   ????s

  • It has been repeated on here for weeks that very few foreign tourists are willing to put up with their nonsense requirements that seem to be designed to gouge money before anyone sets foot in Thailand

There we go, as I said in another thread; Massive loss of face incoming.   I give it two weeks tops, about 15 days until they start dropping the ASQ/SHA bullsh!t, THEN and only THEN people w

The chief of Thailand's northern hoteliers' association was forced to admit on Sunday...''

Did they use the plastic bag method ?

They showed Pattaya and Kao San road on the news this morning. It was a report from last evening with most venues still closed. A restaurant owner discussed the silly 9 PM stopping of alcohol. People finish work at 6, go home shower and change to go out, arrive by 8pm and have to take their bottle home with them....

no one with sense will come untill restrictions are gotten rid of ..anything to try to bleed the last baht..... ain't going to work

Offer us 69 baht draft beers while watching some sexy bird (that you can't barfine, it's just arousal) dancing on a stretch pole with loud blaring music while playing connect 4 with another (barfinable) bird that we can bring "home" for 600 baht THEN we will be back, for sure... until then... shove your quarantine, your SHA+ and your ASQ where the sun doesn't shine.

What I described above is what Thailand is known for and that's all it'll ever be.

All this "we want quality tourists" doesn't work, it never has and it never will.

Som nam na.

I reckon you hit the nail on the head and to the Thai authorities , like it or not , it is the nightlife that is the main attraction to Thailand . For some reason there seems to be no consideration for tourists when it comes to the tourists enjoying themselves i.e. have you ever arrived in Thailand for say a 2 week holiday and getting ready to hit the town and then you get told , no alcohol day or days / weekend . ( we are not all Buddhists )

It has been said that Thai aristocracy fear that Thailand is becoming too Westernised and so they want the country to revert back to its customary ways of life some 50 years ago , for the 90% of the suppressed population ( not the well heeled ) .      Foreigners are a tolerated invasion , made more believable by the recent  sanctioning of inflated hospital  fees ( and entrances to other venues etc etc ) to foreigners . The Thai government know exactly what they are doing and the consequences of their actions . If this high season fails it will be because of calculated government actions and probably the end of mass tourism to Thailand  cos the government want  a wealthier clientele .

Get rid of the insurance scam, open the bars and clubs........you'll get the tourists back even if it is gradually.

Well the thing is they do not want “normal” tourists like before.

They want the super-rich only, who they believe will be attracted to walking down the street with closed shops, dangerous smelly sidewalks and watch food-lines for the poor.

Bars, Clubs, Alcohol and other fun stuff is only for the poor it seems.

This cannot be true.   The government  has spoken.  Thailand  is open, prepared, and .. well they said people were coming

Smelly sidewalks..   no they have great and well paid for sewage here

I advised my repeated visitors not to travel to Thailand yet until real and stable measurements are in place. My guess it will take at least another 6 months ore so.

No surprise here. Chiang Mai is not the typical destination for the fat, beer drinking, red belly and red head sun grilling affluent tourist. Chiang Mai clientele may not wanna jump through many rings and pay all kinds of fees for BS.

Me too ........... tourists get in my way at immigration.

but the ones who ventured to come will be faced with huge price increases on anything and everything, inflation it's taking over.... went to the market price for vegetables and other dair(l)y  all went up, it appears  taxis, gas, massage as well and should expect same from the scamers as they need to recover from their losses
