Popular Post Gecko123 Posted November 10, 2021 Popular Post Posted November 10, 2021 I like Indians. Affable, polite, approachable, excellent English skills. Many cultural and spiritual harmonies with Thailand. An increase in Indian tourism would also provide a much needed counter weight to Thailand's mad embrace of all things Chinese. 4
Popular Post Guderian Posted November 10, 2021 Popular Post Posted November 10, 2021 By "quality tourists" one assumes they mean people with lots of money to spend, and yet their stated targets of young people and Indians do not, with a few exceptions, have bags of cash to throw around. And why would any normal person, young or Indian, want to take a holiday in a country where you can't go out for a drink, or even have a glass of wine with your meal in most places? On top of which, it now seems that you face huge bills if you test positive on arrival. They're not targeting "quality tourists" this way, they're targeting the insane, lol! 8
Geir Rasch Posted November 10, 2021 Posted November 10, 2021 They should check who is the big spenders in Thailand. They are definitely not any asian you country. Midlle East and Scandinavia are the homes of the big spenders in Thailand according to statistics. 2
Popular Post BestB Posted November 10, 2021 Popular Post Posted November 10, 2021 Head line says Thailand to target quality and first time tourists, followed by story line explaining to target Indians. i guess once they get robbed by the ladyboys or do not get a discount in 7-11 they will not be coming back ???? 4
mike1967 Posted November 10, 2021 Posted November 10, 2021 Come on, let's be totally honest. It's a case of supply and demand. It doesn't matter what the government want, the Thais will supply what the tourists want and we all know what that is. 1
PuaSai Posted November 10, 2021 Posted November 10, 2021 At this point one would think if the economy has been hurt, money is money from anyone. Better something than nothing and not limiting your resources. 1

Brick Top Posted November 10, 2021 Posted November 10, 2021 In my opinion both can both the ultra wealthy tourists and green newbies can be easily fleeced 2

Popular Post GinBoy2 Posted November 10, 2021 Popular Post Posted November 10, 2021 Oh f#fs, I think I may slash my wrists if I hear one more story about 'quality' tourists. In the past 20 years I can't count the number of times I've heard this drivel Maybe turn Thailand in to a quality destination, and the rest will follow! As a little editorial comment. We're off for our annual vacation next month in Hawaii. My wife likes to say, "Thailand on the beach without the garbage and the scams" 5 1 3
Nabby Posted November 10, 2021 Posted November 10, 2021 Thailand will take what it can get and that's the end of the story. Living in fantasyland is nothing new for the stupid leadership, but they would do better if they would just keep their idiot mouths shut. Reality: they'll be fighting with Cambodia for begpackers. 1

So they expect that the tourists will only come one time to Thailand than? Probably a not unrealistic expectation, given how hard they are working at making the whole business so unattractive... 2

Chad3000 Posted November 10, 2021 Posted November 10, 2021 Where did this news come from? Looks like more TV pot stirring. 1
Popular Post baz69er Posted November 10, 2021 Popular Post Posted November 10, 2021 The way things are at the moment, they should welcome anyone who is willing to come to Thailand especially with all the extra requirements & not to mention the Thailand Pass....... 3
Popular Post PaDavid Posted November 10, 2021 Popular Post Posted November 10, 2021 I think, as so often happen with policies here, they’re approaching this from the wrong direction. Anyone who has foreign money to spend should be encouraged. The more the merrier. What is really needed is a policy which obstructs ‘begpackers.’ After all, not only do they not contribute, they are the ones most likely to actually cost the country if something unforeseen and unprepared for happens. I’m sorry you students on gap years, but if I had my way, you’d have to wait until you can properly afford it before you jet off here. From a purely selfish perspective, I’d ban all tourists. I’m happy to see a strong $/€/£ against the ฿. 3
Skeptic7 Posted November 10, 2021 Posted November 10, 2021 The "hooks" and the crooks are licking their chops! Crackpot scheming and dreaming place, this. 1
bullseye66 Posted November 10, 2021 Posted November 10, 2021 Isn't that a contradiction? Young first timers from India and high end wealthy tourists?

michael888 Posted November 10, 2021 Posted November 10, 2021 Lucky to get anyone with all the hoops, insurance and other money grabbing scams theyve employed. Much easier to go to other countries 2
Popular Post steven100 Posted November 10, 2021 Popular Post Posted November 10, 2021 So it's back on the Indians again !! and they can all sit around the 7-11 and share a bottle of beer together, yeah ..... quality tourists ! that'll work 2 1
Popular Post alphonse Posted November 10, 2021 Popular Post Posted November 10, 2021 As long as Thailand considers that it is doing the holiday visitors a favour by letting them come there, then their tourism will decline. The alternatives are many. Cambodia is greedy for us, 4 1
Popular Post Nickelbeer Posted November 10, 2021 Popular Post Posted November 10, 2021 I rather like Indians. They are certainly more polite than Han Chinese. True, they are notoriously cheap, but I would prefer them to the wealthy elites that the Thai government is trying to attract. 4
