Pattaya City today (December 4th) officially welcomed their new Police Chief Colonel Kunlachart Kunlachai.

Colonel Kunlachart has officially started his work as the Pattaya City Police Chief today, although had visited with some local leaders earlier this week. He paid his respect to the sacred statue in front of the Pattaya City Hall and Police Station before officially starting his work.

The Pattaya News gives a warm welcome to our new Police Chief and wishes him good luck in his new role.

Pattaya had an acting chief in the role of Pattaya Police Chief for many months and has had a number of police chiefs in the past several years.

I'm sure I'll see a few of them at the Porsche display at the Motor Expo this week

It is well known that in this country, highly coveted and sought after positions are secured with good chunks of change, having said that, they say that new broom sweeps well, so be on your good behavior everybody...

Expect a lot of crackdowns and police checks within the next few weeks, when he tries to establish his "footmark"...

I think he's hoping for a good harvest.

How much did he pay to get this role ? Should he cheap now, with a few businesses open only, though.

Trying to recoup his investment, more like.

he was changed few months ago, so why again ? not enough money to be made ?

Bar owners, there you go, a little donation & off you go, just like Bangkok

Didn't the last one get moved to an inactive post for his failure to close illegal gambling dens? Same fate for Rayong's top cop about the same time.

In the past it's been reported that these 'posts' can change hands for up to 10 mil THB, I wonder if he was able to negotiate a 'covid discount'?

In any event batton down the hatches for a while, I feel a testing of the waters coming on.

It is a good time to start with what appears to be ambiguity or complex alcohol selling rules.

It will be in the tens of million if previous reports can be believed.

Guess we should feel sorry for his predecessor, who presided over a pandemic.
