webfact
The Supreme Court has reduced the Appeals Court prison term handed down to Thai construction tycoon Premchai Karnasuta to two years and six months for poaching in Thungyai Naresuan wildlife sanctuary almost four years ago. Premchai, the President of Italian-Thai Development, was sentenced to 3 years and 2 months by the Appeals Court almost two years ago. His sentence today (Wednesday) was reduced by 8 months. Two of his co-defendants, his driver Yong Dodkrua and Thanee Thummat, the hunter, also had their sentences reduced by eight months. Yong was given two years and nine months and Thanee given a total of three years and 1 month. Funny how so many people promulgate the myth that there are special cells with perks in Thai prisons. There aren't. Thai prisons do not have individual cells except for those punished with solitary and those are only "special" in their grimness. 1

Because he, allegedly, didn't do the killing. But he did get additional time for charges of bribery and possession of a rifle. anchadian
CORRECTION: The jail sentence for Mr. Premchai is 3 years and 2 months, as this was the original sentence by the Appeals Court upheld by the Supreme Court today. The Office of the Attorney General originally and erroneously stated today’s sentencing was 2 ½ years. #คดีเสือดำ https://twitter.com/SaksithCNA/status/1468462533660930052

I took the effort. A middle aged couple. 30 years in prison initial sentence. Reduced to 15 years as they confessed. Then another reduction to 5 years. After a public campaign released after 17 months on bail. https://www.khaosodenglish.com/news/crimecourtscalamity/courts/2017/05/02/mushroom-picking-couples-prison-term-reduced-5-years/ Judges who give 30 years for that would be taken to court themselfs for abuse of law in proper lawful countries.
