There were some really great travel programs yesterday, showing how easy it is to go from Doha to Berlin!   555

Been watching Benidorm.

A bit dated,   but well funny, 2007

Could have been renamed Pattaya,  if had the ladies, instead of all the fat birds.  :giggle:

As I do quite often these days, a couple of days ago I delved into the archives to seek out an older movie,

I just did the same - The Hobbitt and Lord of the Rings Extended versions showed up on TPB. Quite a slog but some interesting scenes that were deleted from the theatrical releases.

Any way you can link to this or tell me how to search because it did not show on my search?

First 2 episodes of "Welcome to Chippendales " enjoyable.

"White Lotus" now up to level of first series, 2 episodes to go.

"The English" also getting up a head of steam- Emily Blunt steals the show.

Am really enjoying it ????

Background is I bought a new Phone yesterday which came with 3 months free Apple TV+ so I thought why not try it out & this series caught my eye - As you would expect from Apple it's a good quality service (app was already installed on my TV), simply scanning a QR code on the TV logged me in & I was up & running.

Have to say content looks very light but both seasons of Slow Horses are on there & a few series I haven't come across before that sound interesting...

Echo 3 - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt12762512/

Severance - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11280740/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_1

Suspicion - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt12026710/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0

... so will make sure I watch those before the 3 months is up & then decide whether to continue at 199b pm.

NB Thai Subtitles are really important to me so the GF can watch along, so whilst I'll stream from my Android box if it's something that I want to watch alone it's worth it to me to pay for the likes of Netflix (419b pm) for the subtitles so we can watch it together.

I know it was recommended on here a long time ago but I've just started on Fauda...

Loving it... 4 Seasons to go...

Although it's fiction it feels like it touches on real life in Israel/Palestine so far I've had to Google "Hannibal Directive" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hannibal_Directive

& Baruch Goldstein  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baruch_Goldstein

Great show. Not sure how I came across it but I it was some really good, tense spy drama.

watched the 2 series of Early Doors from TPB. Right up there with faulty towers etc. Only 20 years ago when you could smoke in a pub, beer was less than 2 quid and no kids running about

When I was a kid, bars had 2 entrances - Men Only and Ladies and Escorts.

Bar was separated so that the men did not have to sit with the women if they so choose.

No radio, no TV - just sit, smoke, and drink.

And play crib, dominoes or bar billiards

A cracking show.

Really under rated IMO.

TPB

I watched this and thought it was "amazing" but not the way one usually describes a documentary, more the way that it also encompassed the fanatical evangelical support given to trump through the Falwell connections, notwithstanding the fact that Trump was everything that evangelists rail against – – a liar, a crook, an adulterer and one who had broken just about every commandment in the Bible!

It was more far-reaching than just the affair between the pool boy and Falwell's wife and laid bare the hypocrisy of the Bible thumping, god bothering hypocrites.

What also surprised me was the absolute hate, that many Republicans had for the Democrats, and I'm not holding back on that, because it came across loud and clear, as did the trump connections with other unsavoury groups, and a brief showing of the Capitol Hill riot, something I hadn't seen before, was disturbing/disgusting.

Take a look, it's well worth it, and if you think that the USA is an absolute mess at the moment, then you wouldn't be alone.

I just know what I shall NOT be watching on Netflix tonight. And what I SHALL be on 2am Sunday!

Both involve Englishmen!   555

I can't stand soccer so I'll be watching some paint dry and then 'Early Doors' to finish off.     Arms

Decided to watch "V for Vendetta" (again) last night and it's always good to see the delightful/delectable Natalie Portman, just as it was in the movie "Annihilation".

Enjoyable evening and as always, picked up a few things that I hadn't noticed before, so contemplating what else to watch now??
