Horror story of my THAILAND PASS application

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

13 days ago i sent the application. got a "registered" email immidiately.

since than - no answer at all. my flight leaves tomorrow.

no reply to my emails. no answer in their phone numbers.

and as mentioned  - no REPLY/ RESULT / RESPONSE  at all.

this is the WORST case scenario because i do not know where do i stand, what and if i did wrong,

and how to continue - shall i try again and book another flight / hotel / insurance, or

just forget about the whole thing for few months?

giving NO ANSWER at all is THE WORST. it leaves me hanging in the air

not knowing what to think.

are they mad at me? at my  country? don't they

like my passport photo? my passport number? i can change it for them.

just SAY SOMETHING !!!

no, you got it wrong. thai pass is still working but only via phuket.

anyway they need to tell the applicants something. they could send even

one small email telling what is going on, because the request was registered.

Just being clear. You got registered, sent in the photos of your hotel booking, insurance etc. and then heard nothing? It took mine 10 days to get code.

Call your local Thai embassy/consulate. Some are more helpful than others, but if they are willing to get involved, they can get it resolved quickly.

Since at the 00.00 hrs of the 22nd of December (Thailand time) the new registrations for Thai Pass, except Phuket Sandbox and Alternative Quarantine, have been stopped, maybe some system trouble in the first days of the new rules could have affected your application ☹️

Unlike the old CoE, Thailand Pass isn't processed by consulates or Embassies. It's processed centrally, in Thailand. The Consulates and Embassies have no visibility into application status.

thai pass is suspended, phuket is sandbox only.

Thai Pass is NOT suspended, you can do quarantine in BKK for 7 / 10 / 14 days ( depending where you travel from ) if you don't want to do Phuket SandPit.

Officially, yes, but in practice they are able to advocate for you if they are willing to do it. Although usually they won't even consider it until one or two days before you are due to travel.

I know 2 people who got their TP this way and if you search this forum, you will find other examples. (Which is how I found out about it in the first place.)

TOO late for me because my flight leaves in  2 hours.

thing is that this PASS is connected to many bookings. flight hotel ext.

so i cannot change them according to their craze. that is why THE WORST thing they

can do is GIVE NO ANSWER AT ALL. that is because they just waste people;s time until

their flight is coming. they know when the date of my flight. why can't they say something

even a say or two before the flight date? they just do not care.

You didn’t allow lead time for delays…anyone other than business or family reasons to come to thailand during January and maybe even February is just not smart…

let thailand figure out their policies and as the virus eases, hopeful less stringent policies materialize making it easier to handle entry requirements…

set your sights on April and low season golf….

that is a helpfull advice. but than they break their rule that says answer will come within

3-7 days. if now answer will come within 10 or 15 or whatever days, it means we need

to book a month or two before traveling, and anyway they MUST ANNOUNCE IT CLEARLY !!

they are wasting people's time and money with their nonsense

and what if in april there will be another outbreak? we cannot plan like that.

i learned and followed the rules, problem is that thIs PASS team are breaking the

rules they made. the least they can do it SAY SOMETHING so people will know

if to wait for their answer or not.

this is a disgrace indeed and breach of all trust.

if they want to cancell it / delay it/ change it or just do not like me ,i can understand, but

hey, you MUST SAY SOMETHING !!!

so this is why i have to lose my flight and my hotel booking?

if they cannot handle PASS requests within the 3-7 days they promised, than they

should say so clearly. i just followed their rules and got the silent treatment,

Not at all, I was just putting out the facts.  Many are still waiting as you are as well as many who are waiting for their online 90 day report approvals because no one was working.

You're right. I confused Thai Pass and Test&Go.

Of course you are right and it is more than understandable your anger but, just to understand what could have happened, did you asked Thai Pass for Phuket Sandbox or for Alternate Quarantine ?

Next time use an agent.

That's what I did.............after working out how to create good quality jpegs from other formats/sources (and having already suffered enough anxiety using the e-visa site).

It cost about 3000baht but their website was really, really, really easy/simple to use, they communicated very well with me and it took just over 6 hours to get it after I finalised the application........by paying for it.

I "pressed the button" and went to bed........it was in my email when I woke up next morning.

What's the difference in uploading all the docs to an an agent than to the actual TP website itself?

Apart from the 3000 baht you're wasting?

and this "agent" , which is just another website, will not steal my personal data passport credit card and go shopping another week or month with them?

it is one thing to give all your digits to a failed govrtnment site, and another thing to give

it to some suspicious web site of digital tea money

WRONG....  wrong, wrong....

The Thailand Pass has not been suspended at all - only the Test & Go (one night in a hotel) part has been suspended.

Thailand Pass is still operational for Alternative Quarantine and Phuket Sandbox options.

The issue faced by SCOTT FITZGERSLD is that he was unable to make payment for the PCR tests on the Phuket PSAS website - thus he attempted to submit his Thailand Pass for the Phuket Sandbox which was denied because he didn’t submit any proof of payment for the 2 PCR tests.

He [SCOTT FITZGERSLD] unsuccessfully attempted to communicate with Thailand Pass (call them and e-mail them).

Ultimately - there is no need to communicate with the Thailand Pass team as the problem is known.

SCOTT FITZGERSLD needs to make payment for his PCR tests on the Phuket PSAS website, only then will he have a chance at a successful Thailand Pass application.

IF he cannot find a way to make a successful payment on the Phuket PSAS website he may have to resort to using an agent.

Vietnam done the same back in Mid March 2020

No warnings at all and no refunds of Visa costs from them.
