Thai police are doing a wonderful job - stop blaming us for everything or face jail, says RTP spokesman

Featured Replies

Well I suppose that if they did the job they are apparently paid to do there would be no need to criticise them.

Unfortunately they don't so they are, how many times do we read of people being extorted for cash just to get them to do what they are supposed to do in the first place, how many of us have been pulled over when either driving or riding a bike to be accused of some felony or other which you know to be a crock of 5h!te.

Do your job properly Mr Plod and you won't get cr@p thrown at you.

Get on with your public service and earn respect not try to demand or force it.

You get what you pay for.... pay peanuts....

The mainstream news about RTP misconduct and crimes commited is proof enough that something is amiss.

A wonderful job being number two in the world re deaths on the road that hasn't changed in 20 years

Can we mention that in the form of unanimous observation, rather than criticism?

well while it isn't pretty, at least per this data , that ain't so:

They have a very poor reputation and are criticised for very obvious reasons. They are generally considered by most to be inept, corrupt and will fleece the public they are supposed to be serving at every opportunity.

Someone should tell this guy that in real life, you get a pat on the back when you deserve it, and bawled out when your performance is poor.

I vote for you to go. tell him what's what! You will find him in the Press Office at the gates to the RTP HQ in Pathumwan Bangkok.

He warned people about Article 136 regarding defaming civil servants.

Yes, it's a good job they've got this law on the books or, Heaven forbid, people might start saying nasty things about Prayut and Anutin, lol.

Contrary to everything you believe, everything you have seen over the course of your lifetimes, everything you have been told by your parents, your friends and your associates, we are a good people. We work hard to protect you, we are honest, we fight crime, we solve crimes, and nobody here is above the law, no matter how rich, well connected, or powerful they are.

If you cannot believe us, if you will not believe us, and if you continue to resist our narrative, we will just lock you up. No disobedience, or lack of respect will be tolerated! Absolute featly is demanded, of every last one of our subjects. As you know, the same applies of this regime, so why shouldn't it apply to us too?

We will not tolerate bad press, we will not tolerate whistle blowers, and you will not be permitted to speak truth. We remember some American saying "truth is not truth". This is what we believe. You must believe it too.

Pol Maj-Gen Yingyot Thepjamnong said that the RTP were doing an absolutely wonderful job solving crime, investigating wrong doing and generally catching the bad guys.

Are you drunk, high or both Yingyot? You lot are capable of jack! The square-root of nought! If you are not out extorting people, that is. You are only 'doing your job' with the poor and powerless common folks and helpless foreigners. The moment you see a big stick you guys bow, duck, cower and retreat into your shells. Or rub your hands in glee at the sight of big money.

A despicable lot, most of you. Inept, at best. And yes, you are one of the biggest components in this country's failed systems. There you go. Stop hiding behind these toothless threats. Lose the ego, grow up and grow a pair.

First sentence of the OP:

"The Royal Thai Police spokesman has warned the Thai people not to criticize the force."

So unless you are Thai, no problem. Rant away. They don't care what you have to say anyway.  on here or anywhere else.

That's right General, you tell 'em...always taking the 'bull by the horns'...if you see what I mean.

There is definitely no need to criticize a person/organization who's mouth only opens to change feet.  Give them a break.

They do do a good job when the want to, or forced to or paid to, other times job they do is not very wonderful or even good.

He may want to set up a committee to take complaints from people to get an idea WHY they are not happy with police force and he may find out his opinion may be far from truth

Sadly in Thailand the fragile little egos of arrogant people who believe themselves to be superior knows no bounds.

A damning indictment of the sad state of those who are paid by the taxpayer to serve but only serve themselves.

As long as the RTP that's required by the people who pay them, (the PUBLIC) there should not be any criticism. Like all employees getting a salary if they don't do the required task they should be fired.

Silly me I thought that the translation for Thailand, mean't country of freedom, the name must mean something else, keep up the excellent work.

Shame he didn't give out phone numbers to call if you experience threats, extortion and scams by the RTP.

I guess there are only a limited number of call handlers that are prepared to employ.

You just can't make this stuff up. Brilliant. The good thing about this story is that in these times of Covid it has brought smiles, neigh laughter to an entire country. Well done sir.

Something I’ve learned since moving here:  be careful criticizing or else pay a price.  It doesn’t matter who.
