Where does it say that he was given a large Bill from the hospital---- or mention any account of the cost to him---he was only in hospital a very short time,  they (who ever posted on the "Give me Page") want a quarter of a million Baht to help him.

With no mention of any details.

I am waiting to see how much is needed at the -Give me page- for that guy who died having a massage in Pattaya.

Whilst I am sure we may all on occasions say if you have no insurance its your own risk with the hospital bills, it is appalling that someone has to worry about hospital bills after an attempted murde

  • Enough money to booze all night... peeing off the neighbours and the op picture shows him with a fag in hand.. so money to burn too? but not for self inflicted accident?

Neither man deserved what happened to them, but it could have been completely avoided by respecting those around them.

An excuse often used by the RTP is that perpetrators have mental issues....often resulting in a lesser sentence....and maybe a reward for the police

Never saw the cops. The neighbours told me he was "disturbed". Apparently well known.

Show up at your friend's funeral wearing shorts, flip flops, and a T shirt? And smoking a cigarette?

What i'm worried about is that there will be a day when the Thai government will force each foreigner coming to Thailand or staying in Thailand to have an insurance to cover such situations if such cases will continue to happen seeing that burden that situation like that brings upon the system...

ive nothing against compulsory insurance its common sense..and yes foreigners do put a strain on the medical system when the cant pay ..

I've been 'on holiday' here with an assortment of Thai women for the past 12 years.

And my VISA extensions were all given me to stay with the aforesaid women.

What's your excuse for being here?

(No insurance either)

i,m sorry for the bloke , but its the same story over and over again, no medical insurance , I,m also suspicious of the time spent in thailand , 90 day reports etc etc , on the facebook page , things just don,t add up !!

Wrong.   His visits were never longer than a maximum of 3 months (still working in the UK) and 90 reports are only applicable for visa extension purposes.   Given that you cannot enter Thailand currently without health insurance, you are wrong again.   I have no doubt his insurance would have only been applicable up until the date of what has been his delayed departure.   That said, an insurance claim for an event that happened within the insured period should still be met.

It's extremely impolite to attend a funeral in Thailand wearing shorts, in fact anywhere as far as I know.

Not his fault this time. But whatever happened you have to remember keep the peace wherever you are

These are two conflicting sentences, as he was not keeping the peace, which led to the attack. Like, look before you leap and he who hesitates is lost.

Somebody (sorry, I can’t remember poster’s name) on an earlier thread posted this link:

https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/17414348/found-boyfriend-beheaded-thailand-sickle-attack/

Thai girlfriend Wassana 33 with young daughter Excerpt from ^^^

“After the suspect’s arrest, Wassana said police allowed her to talk to him. “I looked in his eyes. I was still so angry at him. I asked him 'why did you kill my ?,” she said in interview with a local Thai TV station.

“I said I was very angry at him. I said 'why couldn't you talk or ask nicely? You could have told me or told the police, but you shouldn't have killed him'.”

She paid an emotional tribute to her partner’s kindness and generosity.

“He was the main provider, he supported me and my daughter,” she said.

“He gave me a monthly allowance and my expenses are high, but my husband took amazing care of me. Now I don't know what to do because I will have nobody to support me.”

Wassana and her daughter are victims too. They weren’t involved in the drinking or any of the loud music noise. Who is going to start a crowdfund for them?

Tragic, sad and shocking story.

It's what his dead mate wanted.

Just to annoy people like yourself, who post on Thai forums.

Maybe the attack could possibly even have been prevented, if the poor guys had used their money to buy health insurance instead of beer?

If you select to be self insured, others are not supposed to pay the bills!

And this comment heartless and judgemental.... they have lost a friend.

I wouldn’t attend a funeral dressed like that, equally so I wouldn’t be so quick to pass such derogatory judgment on those suffering a loss.

Of course not! My main views have been outlined repeatedly no need to repeat again ad nauseum. Just an observation of farang behaviour.

exactly .....  the guy was angry because the music was loud at 3am .....  we don't really know if he really has any mental problem or just a seriously bad anger attitude.

I would certainty have a problem, if <deleted> up neighbours were keeping me awake at 3am with loud music, when you are sleep deprived it is easy to become seriously angry. been there done that luckily no one shot me when i vented my anger.

Judgmental?  You bet it is. This picture tells me a lot. Middle aged men showing up for a funeral dressed like that and smoking a cigarette. The only thing they needed was a can of beer to top it off. And then to come out and beg for money. Incredible.

Even if the guy had insurance most policies have small print which excludes claims if you are intoxicated which from what I have read they clearly were.  Not sure I'd have turned out to a friends funeral in shorts either.

If you had marriage visa extensions then you were here for family reasons, period.

The fact that you marry multiple women to be able to stay 12 years in Thailand is your personal strategy, but doesn't change the fact that if a person starts a crowdfunding for you they cannot claim that you were on holiday.

Just another go fund me, for people that can´t take care of themselves. I am not saying that he should have to pay or that anything is right about his misfortune. That is all on the crazy Thai guy that has been caught. However, you can not come to Thailand with no means if something should happen. That´s being arrogant, unaware and irresponsible.

Insurance expired because of unexpected extended stay, 3 years ????? The guy can`t afford to live in Thailand is the reality, I won`t be contributing to any Go Fund Me of that kind. Get better, go back to the UK and get work.

He already works full time in the UK, and only travels to Thailand to visit his partner for a few weeks or a month at a time over a year.   She works full time here as a chef.   He arrived this time in December and would have left this week.

The article says he lived in Thailand for 3 years with his wife. If he arrived in December he would have had a minimum of $50,000 medical insurance for the duration of his stay. If he cancelled his flight home and didn`t extend his insurance that`s pretty stupid with the endless possibilities that it may be required for. As they say, up to him, but it`s not Go Fund Me worthy imo.

A number of posts denigrating (even outright defaming) the murder victim have been removed along with replies to same.

Have some respect and basic human decency. Family of the deceased may read this thread.
