A former staff member at the Australian embassy in Bangkok has been charged by Thai police after spy cameras were discovered in women's bathrooms inside the secure government building.

 

The discovery raises serious questions about how the cameras were able to be installed and remain undiscovered, potentially for years. 

 

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) confirmed that a former locally engaged staff member at the Australian embassy in Bangkok was arrested by Royal Thai Police on January 6.

Folks, the timing is just too oportune. Is this just to 'cover up' the picture taking in an  Lieutenant Commander from the Royal Thai Navy, just last week?  No, I'm not believing this. Just too coincidental.

I have been disappointed with the Australian Embassy for a long time. Now I just feel disgusted. 

I have yet to meet an Aussie at the Australian embassy they are all Thais yes he might have had dual citizen ship but why point that out?

My experiences with the Thai staff in the Oz consulate in Phuket have been abhorrent.

No worries mate, after he (if) serves time he can go back to OZ and get a job in the OZ government, as his crime was not there, well that's how Thailand view crimes committed abroad even those who spent 4 yrs in jail for smuggling heroin can get high govt. positions. init.

My last passport from Bangkok Embassy 2018 was a nightmare. 

That b1tch behind the window was a horrible human. 

I emailed the Embassy complaining but nothing was done. 

 

The Embassy needs a clean out, nobody is accountable, we Australians should be treated with professionalism and courtesy, not served by the rot behind the window. 

 

My passport 2008 from Australian Embassy Singapore was a really nice experience, professional, courtesy, exactly what one would expect when dealing with an Australian Embassy
