Why the US is becoming more brazen with its Ukraine support

The Biden administration is arming Ukraine with weapons that can do serious damage to Russian forces, and, unlike early in the war, U.S. officials don’t appear worried about Moscow’s reaction.

In the past several months, Washington has detailed tranches of new drones, harder-hitting missiles and deadly rocket systems as part of billions of dollars pledged to the former Soviet country. The clear support is a far cry from the early days of the war, when the U.S. government seemed hesitant to list exactly what was being sent into Ukraine so as not to tip off or draw the ire of Moscow.

I'm guessing that it's also psychological warfare. Russian morale is not good. Learning what they're up against and what they're going to be up against has to be very discouraging for Russian troops.

The Drones Russia Is Reportedly Receiving From Iran For Its Ukraine War

Reports state that the first tranche of Iranian drones intended for use in Ukraine has made it to Russia, confirming rumors that have been swirling for weeks, and some U.S. officials have assessed that the delivery is only just the beginning as ‘hundreds’ more are expected to be imported on an undisclosed timeline. Mohajer-6s and the Shahed-series of unmanned aerial vehicles, or UAVs, reportedly make up at least some of the initial shipment, and different variations of the types are capable of various operations including conducting surveillance, strikes, and electronic warfare missions. In this piece, The War Zone will provide an explainer of these systems to try and better understand the role they may play in Ukraine.

Ukraine war: Russia postpones referendum in occupied region

"This is being paused because of the security situation," said Kirill Stremousov, deputy head of the Russian-appointed administration there.

The Ukrainian army has launched a long-awaited counter-offensive in the south, where Russia plans referendums in the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions. Speaking on Russian state TV, Mr Stremousov said Ukrainian shelling had damaged the Antonovskiy Bridge to such an extent that vehicles could no longer cross it.

Ben Wallace has just stated in a statement in the House of Commons that Ukraine forces have been pushing Russian forces backward and an estimated 80 thousand Russian are dead and injured. He also stated that the IAEA Monitors sited at Europe's biggest Nuclear plant have told reporters that Russia only allowed Russian reporters and European reporters were turned away. Make of that what you need about their honesty.

Coming soon; Every missile that Russia fires will land in the sea, somewhere off the coast of Japan.

Funny joke but it is bad news for Ukraine.

Agreed. And not just Ukraine, but the whole of Europe and possibly NATO. We’re seeing a new axis of evil emerge (Russia, Iran, North-Korea), just like in WWII. One of the problems is that lots of rich people are making lots of money off of this, and they really don’t give two hoots if they have to set the world on fire - literally and/or figuratively- to make an extra billion or two. Scary times.

The car of colonel Artem Bardin, the Russian military commander of Berdyansk, was blown up with a car bomb, apparently by Ukrainian resistance fighters. Bardin was severely injured and died later in the hospital.

as the old saying goes "birds of the feather flock together" ... military junta(s), autocratic governments, dictatorship type, etc., they should be all put together inside a room and send in a missile to get rid of them

Sadly, it doesn't usually end that way for them. Stalin and Mao ( 2 of the most evil men, IMO, to ever walk on this planet ) died ( far as we know ) of natural causes while still "in charge".

I had the impression that the FSB were the culprits in the Darya Dugina assassination.

Possibly a botched attempt on her father.

With so many of Putin's other oligarch buddies falling out of windows anything is possible.

Theyi're not quite confirming this but they seem quite confident it's true:

Top Russian Commander of Invading Army Captured by Ukraine—Report

Ukrainian media outlets and social media users have speculated that a top Russian commander has been captured as Kyiv's counteroffensive against Moscow's forces gathers pace.

Images and video shared on Twitter and Telegram purportedly show Lieutenant General Andrei Sychevoi among a group of Russian troops handcuffed on their knees with one social media user saying they were near Balakliya, in the Kharkiv region

Many noted the similarity of one of the captured men to other images of Sychevoi.

I don't think it's him, ear shape, chin shape and skull shape are different.
still wears rank insignia of a lieutenant colonel, so not a bad catch.
