RIP Warnie, you might have lived for 52 years but you packed twice the living into that time.

RIP. World class. On some occasions Shane was totally unplayable. Taken far too early

Was he still taking drugs coz he did get suspended for 12 months before and took money from a book maker. Sounds like not quite the upstanding citizen as made out to be. Legend or not.

"fine upstanding citizen" never seen that coupled in a sentence with 'Warnie's name in it. The guy was a unmitigated party man and I doubt he ever pretended other wise. Ease up on the sanctimonious comments gents and enjoy a little levity, even if only vicariously

What a shock, especially as it happened on that island.

IMO Best test cricket bowler that has ever played the game....simply a magician with the ball in hand.

Was not really a fan of his commentary, and his lifestyle appeared to be one of a movie star....but that was Warnie, he was a lad.

Friend of mine toured with him in India...room was stacked with cigarettes, tins of baked beans & cheezels

Tragic he has left us at 52...just tragic....RIP SKW

'George Best' of his Sport.     They were both Genius's on the Pitch and they both knew their Lifestyle would lead to early demise; ie, they both knew exactly what they were doing !

RIP Shane; that first ball in Test Cricket ensured your name would live forever.

Nobody is saying he was a saint - just a bloody good bloke and the worlds best bowler ????

Yes. He died on Koh(ke) Samui.

The BBC news said medics could not revive him ,if he had a heart attack in our country his chances of survival  might have been a bit higher .

He will always be remembered for "That Ball ",the batsman Mike Gating  has been interviewed by at least two radio stations this morning .

His off field antics, made the tabloid press .......often, someone left a can of beer ,pack of cigarettes  ,and a meat pie ,at his stature outside the MCG .

RIP mate.
