Popular Post snoop1130 Posted March 11, 2022 Popular Post Posted March 11, 2022 No, says Thai Prime Minister (PM) Prayut Chan O’Cha, drinking alcohol does not help prevent Covid-19 or limit symptoms, responding to fake news that went viral across Thailand on social media this week. According to his spokesman, Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana, the rumors that went viral across social media were completely wrong and the PM has asked for people to stop sharing the fake news or they could face potential legal issues under strict Thai laws designed to stop spreading fake news. I suggest strongly, though, that hand alcohol solutions should not be imbibed, not even when diluted, because in Thailand they probably contain denatured alcohol, which is toxic. 2 1

Popular Post spidermike007 Posted March 12, 2022 Popular Post Posted March 12, 2022 (edited) While we know that drinking does not prevent Covid, we also know it does not cause Covid. So, why did you shut down so many restaurants, and prevent restaurants and hotels from serving booze for so long? You crippled tens of thousands of businesses, when they needed the help the most. It was pure sadism. Nobody has ever defined that the booze prohibition intelligibly. I can understand crowded bars, and clubs, where you have to shout to be heard, and in the process you release alot of spittle. But a restaurant? Why? It only appears to be an additional hardship for hundreds of thousands who are only trying to make a living, and patrons who are only trying to let off a little steam and enjoy some much needed recreation. If anything, allowing drinking in restaurants brings down the national crime rates! Beer does not cause Covid. Neither does wine. But, prohibiting acholol sales does sabotage an industry and contribute to the continued destruction of the nation's economy. The CCSA continues to prove on a daily basis how lost in space they are, how out of their element they are, how in over their heads they are, and how extreme their denial of science based facts is. Idiotic politicians who institute highly selective shutdowns, while favoring their cronies and the rich developers and factory owners, and allow corrupt border officials on the take, to ply their trade, does cause the spread of Covid. So much more could have been done to prevent the spread, and even possibly the entire 3rd and 4th wave. At this time, the nation would really benefit if there were some intelligent and compassionate adults in the rooms, where these decisions are being made. Woe is Thailand with leaders like Prayuth, Anutin and Phiphat. Where do they find these clowns? Edited March 12, 2022 by spidermike007 20

Spot on as usual Mike. They closed ALL dine-in restaurants in BKK, even those that did not serve booze. Put my friend Tammi, who had a wonderful, niche healthy food restaurant in On Nut, OUT OF BUSINESS. She survived on delivery and carry out for a while, but her main customer base was dine-in and these ridiculous covidiots put her out of business. Been a FUSTERCLUCK here for 2 years and counting.. 8 1 3

While I support your view, I think the PM is relating to Thai society who descend en masse to those huge buffet open-air 'restaurants' who can hold hundreds of clientele throughout an evening. Whether or not the same emphasis on 'a one cap fits all' approach affects all smaller restaurants has never been discerned - albeit many Farang pseudo bars have turned their drinking premises into a so-called restaurant. As for more Covid fear-mongers amongst the medical community citing that new variants will become more deadly, so be it, there are worse things threatening the planet. 3
