Thaksin must be running out of Relatives soon.   Who next; three month old Grandaughter ?

Why is it that nobody in PT can lead the Party to Victory except a member of the Thaksin Family ?

It's true to say there are not a lot of great minds in Thailand but you would think there would be enough to construct a Party that could do better then The Army or PT when it comes to running and progressing the country.   Maybe the 'few' with serious grey matter just can't be bothered with the hassle !

Its not about leading the party to victory but for Thaksin himself to remain in control. He only trust his family members. That is the only reason for her running. If someone else of the PT would be PM they might become hard to control.

This is his party he wants to remain in control a puppet is the best way to do that.

Prison is for coup leaders, not election winners!

Prison is also for convicted criminals. Thaksin should come back and go to jail. He can show the nation that he respects the laws. But then, nobody expects honorable behavior from a thug.

First two items on the shopping list, Kevlar vest, Kevlar helmet. ????

There are unwritten "rules" about political assassinations here. They are just deposed, charged and force to leave. Much cleaner, less conflict.

Yes, perhaps one or two attempts on her father: curious TG fire, definite ISOC-sanctioned car bomb attempt. The latter is often attributed to a "rogue" faction.

Gen. Khattiya's assassination was a "special" case.

Pheu Thai Expects Return to National Administration

UDON THANI, March 21 (TNA) - A daughter of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra is confident her Pheu Thai Party will return to national administration after the next general election.

Paethongtan Shinawatra, Pheu Thai's chief advisor on participation and innovation, on Sunday shared her view after an event to introduce herself as the “Head of the Pheu Thai Family” in the northeastern province to mobilize support from the Pheu Thai members who have been with the party since it was the now-defunct Thai Rak Thai Party.

Announcing her confidence to win 14 million votes in the next general election, Ms Paethongtan said Pheu Thai would lead the next government and formulate policies for the public interest and economic solutions for people. She said that the party had proved since it had been the Thai Rak Thai Party that its policies had brought good life to people.

That guy will never learn his lesson! None of the cronies he installed were able to hold on to the power, nor were they able to escape unscathed. I'm surprised he actually still finds people wanting to do the job! I'd be hell no!!!

if the Thai people elected her via the ballot box, it wouldn't be long before the army got the tanks out to "return happiness to the Thai people" again.

that would be my guess.

So the future is just more of the elites ruling be they family or Army or Police. Banana Republic.

Well she would be heaps better than Putin, and a long way better than Biden who doesn't even know he's the Big Guy on Hunter's laptop. As long as the ex- PM knows he must do some time at a country club of his choice, she might be ok, who knows she might even be friendly towards us?

What is worse? That Thaksin is willing to sacrifice one family member after the next for more power and more money? Or that those family members do what he wants? Or that people are willing to support any family member from Thaksin just because they are family members of Thaksin?

It's all bad.

When will the majority of Thai people start to support and elect honest competent people?

When will they understand that when they vote for corrupt incompetent people then they shouldn't be surprised if they have a corrupt incompetent government?

Obviously that also happens in many other parts of the world, including so called 1st world countries. But that fact this happens elsewhere doesn't make it any better.

"When will the majority of Thai people start to support and elect honest competent people?"

Are there any honest politicians in any country in the world? I cannot speak for other countries, but not in my lifetime has there been any honest decent politicians in any of the two major parties in the UK. They have all been lying hypocrites, some worse than others.
