That's the one thing, most Thai women will ask you.

CAN YOU TAKE CARE OF ME.

What exactly are they talking about.
In general? Taking care, being a good friend, partner, respect etc or is it, they just need someone to take "financially care" of them.

 

I go with you. Can you take care of me and my family?

When I hear this, I run.
I don't mind to have a good woman who also brings something to the table, works, earns herself some money too.
The ones who think "prince farang came from the sky" and suddenly all financial obligations and problems, debts etc are resolved.

What's your experience?

 

I was dating a clever bank manager, 39, good wages, car from bank, cheap loan from bank but she told me, she wants to stop working. She is tired.
Each time we went somewhere, she never asked if we should share restaurant cost etc. I wouldn't have accepted anyway but just showing some consideration.
I asked why would you stop working aged 39. Just in early career, good money, cheap loans, car etc... OOHHH, I am tired. Can you take care of me. 

By the way, she admitted that she can't cook either.

I met a few examples like this and each time I call it an end, very quickly, they hang out with the next victim.
They have this ability to delete memories and a few days later, next candidate please and try the same over and over again until someone stupid enough to accept.

When they say they want to take care really they mean they want someone to take care of them and family aka ATM, many guys fall for that and are quite happy.

 

I've had a Thai lawyer girlfriend 28, we always shared costs of buying stuff, now just friends. I'm happy being single and free, not interested in being an ATM

It means they want you to give them millions of baht and gold firstly...then take care of them, their kids and their extended family in everyway including past debts, credit cards, gambling loans and any perceivable problem that will arise in the future. You will be expected to provide a mansion of a house and 2 vehicles, in her name.... befitting an Isaan village Princess (even though her previous  accommodation was a single dirty cold water room with a fan and mattress on the floor). You should also factor in a 20-30k per month allowance (pocket money to be p$$ed up the wall) and fanned out for Facebook selfies. She will not be prepared to perform even the most basic of household chores, probably wont know how to cook and for the most part be grumpy and irritable and treat you like an inconvenient annoyance. Oh milk teas will need to be regularly provided during the seldom occurrence of her not being asleep. Just to humor yourself....ask her what she will be bringing to the relationship? I bet she has a gormless open mouthed stare as if she never even considered that question and then says something like "I live with you everyday"....lucky you! 5555

That meaning you have to step up and be the man and take care of her emotionally and financially. If you good taking of her, she will take good care of you and your things in her name.

 

She will manage the cleaner, gardener, her assistent, and your finances and credit cards.

 

For some it works fine, for others not so good.

I would assume that anyone who speaks like that, in terms of asking how much money you have and how much you are willing to give them, are basically freeloaders who see foreigners as people who are there to be exploited.

 

Of course, individuals are free to choose this type of woman if they want, but not really my personal choice.  I have no money anyway.

 

If they don't care about you and are trying to get your money away from you, they aren't really good people.  All women are concerned about how much money men have, but at least if they don't want you to waste money and want it to be spent on your kids and your home, it's a little more tolerable.

What I don't understand why quite a lot of them are looking for a care-taker when they have a good job, earn their own money etc.

Probably bad luck on my site.
I look for an educated one with a job and making money herself but they all want to quit job and want me to take care of them ????

A few weeks ago, I dated a quite well off 42 year old.
Own house, real estate, rents out some shops.
Doing well.
She told me, she wants to travel the world and if I am with her, she expects me, to travel every month around the globe. Europe, US, etc

Maybe I didn't explain this properly..... I live in Thailand, but travel for business, which sometimes means 2 flights a week.  She always drops me off and picks me up. 

 

Factor in her still looking great after 11 years together, and I'm happy to 'look after her'.

From my experience, Asian women (esp. Thai, Filipinas, Chinese) who want a Western partner, do so for the purpose of 'taking care of them', i.e. giving them lots of cash (the more clever ones will ask you to "lend" them money for an unspecified time), a high marriage dowry, and expensive gifts, so one is merely the proverbial 'walking ATM' to them.

 

Having only limited experience with other ethnicities, I'd be curious whether it is the same with Indonesian or Malaysian women.

My wife does not work, does not worry most of us that are retired now since we have usually enough income to cope.

 

I think the wife doing the cooking, cleaning, washing, taking care of our daughter, mending my clothes, helping me order stuff, shopping, taking care if me on the odd occasion when under the weather, helping me order stuff, taking care of me in the bedroom ....etc,etc, is fair enough work for me to take care of her from my income without her having the need to go out to work further !

 

My wife has never asked for money - she does not really need it. She is richer than me, more educated than me and not a bar girl.

 

You want a thai woman, you shop around for a good one - and don't buy the first one in the candy shop with the overpriced sticker on it.

I dunno, I have found most I met in 10 years as having some motive for actively seeking a farang. Maybe a lot more worthwhile to try and meet one without this thought in mind and put the work in. I have lots of Thai friends on modest incomes and they seem to have great "normal" girls. Usually the guys mother plays a big part in the sons decision so maybe that is a factor. There are plenty of available women here but we do tend to get the low hanging fruit, the fish John West reject. Most with kids, debts, personality disorders.... Apart from the village no hoper, no Thai with a job would touch them.

 

I don't think a Thai woman marrying or going with a Farang in Thai society is seen as an upgrade here in fact quite the opposite. They are lowering them selves and therefore expect to be renumerated for it. I had a mate here used to be seen as a bit of a player. Turned over women fairly regularly. I joked with him about it once and he said always went to meet a woman with genuine intentions. It was they who ruined any chance of moving forward.

 

Most I have met have these childlike ideas of what they should be getting (Akin to winning the lottery three times). I'm not even sure it is seen as a bad thing. Damn it, they are entitled to it! That's what everyone else who goes with a farang ends up with. I am not talking bar girls or even lower educated girls here either. Plenty of Doctors, nurses etc out there with huge debts looking for a golden goose to make all her problems go away. Even older very plain women think they should be getting pampered and a life of luxury. She doesn't want a better life, they want Hollywood.

 

How it usually pans out is the first 2 weeks to a few months she is often an angel. The guy plays the game at first. Buys her the gold, clothes bags etc.. Feels great because she never had a thing before he met her....sets up house etc and thinks he can take his foot off the gas and start living a more economical sensible lifestyle. That's when the trouble starts, usually for the foreigner as he has invested everything he has in this woman with possibly no real feelings for him and a 3rd grade education. If she was ever loving and cheerful she will now be bitter and resentful. As he is living in HER house he has no control and pretty much possibly is of no further use to her. The laughable thing is they often bring nothing to the table themselves apart from debts and continuing problems. Most are extremely lazy, have zero domestic / life skills and have zero to offer. After a few months the guy works out he was even doing better sex wise when he was single.

 

I know there are guys who will chime in found the perfect woman etc and more power to them, but I in ten years nor anyone of the foreigners I know or have known her have a relationship like this. At best the guy is living in an intolerable life purely because he has no where to go and no options.

I do the same, I take care of her, she take care of me and the farm. Im happy and she is happy. 
 

When we first decided to be together after knowing each other for 4 months, I handed her one of my credit cards with 250 baht in it. She never abused it, and always asked when she needed to pay or buy something. 
 

Today she managing everything I transfer to my bank in Thailand, and never ever felt she took advantage of me. She is not working and it givecus freedom to take care of each other and also travel whenever we want. 
 

working 6 days a week for 15k ? What life is that if I can support both of us, and we farming to be self sufficient as much as possible. 
 

Most important we enjoy each other company, and thrive to be together 24/7 if not, I would not be together with her, if I felt I needed the seperation, which I get when I go working abroad, and when going on a motorcycle tour every month or so for a few days or a week.

One of the reasons is that they are terrible at managing money. Even the ones that make 25-28,000 baht a month (no car loan, very low rent, no drinking or gambling) will have plenty of time left till the next salary when the money runs out.

I have to disagree, many are good with money, but also the opposite. When you say they, it means everybody? And that is wrong.

I doubt she asked him how much he will spend every month, but the principle was the same.

 

Some of us, including me, like to have a nice girl who is housewife and cook and maybe mother, etc. I think there is nothing wrong with this concept, as long as both parties want this life.

 

Obviously there are also some guys who want a woman of their own age with a decent job, etc. who would be able to support herself. Sure, fine. But just that case that she could do this herself doesn't mean she will do it.

Some guys think only bar girls want money. Think again!

The problem discussing here is the laud black and white mentality when it comes to anything, be it ladies,, money, family and culture. 
 

To often to much negativity and those who have positive experiences and relations, just have to wait, they will learn sooner or later, or are to stupid to know or understand anything better.

I think everyone wants something from a relationship even if it is some mutual respect, happiness or fairness. Probably guys out there in one way type relationships where the woman is pleasant and the guy is happy. More power to him. But usually one way relationships never last long. In my experience that's what many of these women want. Its all about them. Like I said in an early post ask her what she is bringing to the party. I bet she will have this weird look on her face....she has never thought of it in those terms lol. And usually they say something like "you get my body" or "I live with you every day". I must say the only thing they seem to be diligent in and take seriously is their sexual responsibilities. Maybe in their mind that's the deal. As I always explain to them sex for foreigners is very easy to find in Thailand and as a single man plenty of variety. If you are selling yourself in this way what happens when I get bored with you? You will have to come up with something better than that.
