Popular Post webfact
Picture: INN Thai media INN reported that Thais still felt a lack of confidence when it comes to removing their face masks. One said she wanted to keep it on for now. They based this on a fact finding mission to the Thao Suranari Monument in Muang district of Nakhon Ratchasima, NE Thailand. From June 1st Korat will be a "Blue" pilot zone for easing of certain Covid regulations including mask wearing. Though exactly what date the changes will take effect remains to be seen. She still feared Covid-19 infection from the customers at her business and subsequent infection of family members. So she was still planning on wearing her mask for now. INN did not report if they asked anyone else except this solitary woman though their picture showed most everyone in masks at the monument yesterday, notes ASEAN NOW. Popular Post Wiggy
If you’ve been jabbed at least twice with non-Chinese vaccines then there should be nothing to fear. (I’m not anti-Chinese, but just saying as they have proven to be fairly ineffective) 15 1 2
Popular Post JAFO
I am done wearing the mask program. I am fully vaccinated and see no need for it at all. While I understand many Thai people will live in fear forever, that doesn't mean we all have to. Time to move on. Masks should be optional and if they want to stare at me, so be it. 38 1
Popular Post Dmaxdan
How about just make wearing a face mask optional. Then everyone has to right to choose whether they wear one. 30 3
Popular Post Nickelbeer
I have not found this to be the case. Many do not seem to want to wear them but they expect non-Thais to wear them religiously. No mystery as to why the Covid situation is still a problem. “Rules for thee but not for me”. ????

The vaccines, especially if you've been boosted, do a pretty good job at reducing your likelihood of serious illness and death from COVID, but they're not 100%... And their protections do tend to wane after 4-5 months post vaccination. So yes, definitely get vaccinated and boosted in accord with the public health guidelines. But even for those who have already been vaccinated and boosted, wearing a quality face mask when around others in public places not only helps protect you but also protects those around you should you come down with the virus. 6 1 3 3

There is certainly no Police enforcement in my area. Also - many drivers are able to kill people without the mandatory requirement of being sloshed. sorry - got off topic there. Face masks are no longer required in my region after Wednesday. Hooray. We will have a mask burning ceremony. (Then maybe a few drinks , then go driving… 555) 8

Popular Post JimmyJ
ohyesuare - "Not the worst thing with how polluted the air is in many cities." N95 masks needed to have an effect on PM2.5 particulates which are thinner than a human hair. Standard masks have little to no effect. dinsdale
"better-to-wear-them-to-protect-yourself-thai-media." Mask wearing was primarily to protect others not yourself. It was all about stopping the spread. Masks were quite effective from transmission from a contagious person if worn properly. Thais never understood this rather simple concept because of stupid headlines like this one hense pulling your mask down to sneeze is ok. Now with omicron it's so aerosolised I doubt it matters either way.
