I hope this goes on the front page of "The Sun" and similar tabloids around the world.

They want dirty tourists to spend money, however, the dirty tourists must touch money, sleep on bedding, drink from glasses and eat from plates. Unfortunately they will probably have contact with others.

It's a known fact foreigners come to Thailand for sex

That's a terrible generalisation . Almost as bad as what this medical genius is saying...

Medical expert warns Thais to avoid sexual contact with foreigners to prevent Monkeypox infections, comments drives anger from expats and foreigners online

By Adam Judd

Bangkok – Dr. Amorn Leelarasamee, a Member of the Medical Council of Thailand, on Tuesday, August 2nd, warned the Thai people to avoid practicing group sexual activities and sexual contact with foreigners to prevent themselves from Monkeypox infection.

His comments, however, drew anger and outrage from many ex-pats and foreigners online, many of whom felt the comments were discriminatory, xenophobic, racist, and bigoted.

The medical expert stated after WHO’s announcement of Monkeypox as a global health emergency that the disease was difficult to control as it is a disease that could be transmitted from animal to person and from person to person.

A member of the Medical Council of Thailand has advised Thais to avoid sexual contact with foreign nationals to help contain the spread of monkeypox.

So Thais are immune yet again and foreigners are the problem...

Good luck to Pattaya, Phuket, Koh Samui, Nana, Soi Cowboy and the rest if you take this advice...

Thailand almost survives on Thais having sex with foreigners.

Where do they find these so called experts? Who decides who to select? And why do they almost always get it wrong? Is there any sort of qualification process?

It all has little to do with anything......just another cycle of distraction that most will buy into eventually.

Thais advised to avoid sexual contact with foreigners

Should have just said homosexuals.

The stigma now...what will this lead to especially as more Africans and especially homosexuals arrive with pox.

Poor / no service final blow to tourism? No staff as the industry abandoned? According to BP grads far preferring administration to tourism careers already.

This makes me wonder whether my wife will feel comfortable being around me in public.

In reality much is distraction and scaremongering. Another vaccine on the way $$$!

Homosexual Meccas of SFO and NYC have declared state of emergency.

AIDS 2.0

No, the article states quite the opposite. Avoid farang so you (the Thai) do not get the virus.

How do you not see that?

Constant battle between viruses and life forms.

Started on day one of life on this little world.

Idea: Time Thai officials has another queue at Thai International airport. One for all Thai's (including gays and ladyboys) entering the country the other marked 'ALL DIRTY FARANGS'. Then the dirty farangs are escorted for whole body fumigation and a conveyor belt into a shower facility. On their forehead afterwards is stamped 'DIRTY FARANGS PROCESSED'. All is then well.

This comes despite the fact that the disease can't be transmitted via sexual contact.

I'm lost here. It most certainly can. In fact, I'm reading even from bedding which makes complete sense. Open  puss-y sores...

I read a recent account of a homosexual man than had painful sores in and about his anus. Sounded dreadful.

I wonder why this is spreading mostly among gays? Do they have sex more often?

Like HIV when the chancer bisexuals get mixed into the soup it will break among heterosexuals (aka normies apparently now).

Nevertheless, another deadly disease brought to us by abnormal and biologicaly incorrect behavior

Should be known that the common xenophobic sense that is part and parcel of particular circles of authority is certainly not reflective of everyday Thai society at large.

We would like to think so wouldn't we..... but over the years I have seen evidence it is.

... let me finish the statement:

However, if you have a sexual intercourse with a foreigner, do not have sex with animals.

I have to presume that the medical advisor has come to the conclusion that Thai males are immune from having monkey pox only dirty farangs as we are called by a certain government minister will pass it on . Another way to put tourist off from visiting the Kingdom

Well technically they are correct... As with Covid, IF caught outside of Thailand and brought in there is some blame which can be directed towards foreigners... even if a Thai caught it overseas and carried it into Thailand.

But... Your point remains valid, there is a strong element of xenophobia and the ‘avoid sexual contact with foreigners’ comment.... IF THAT COMMENT IS TRANSLATED CORRECTLY !!!!!

Yes, that statement need capitals... because a coupe of years back the vast majority of foreigners in Thailand who read it took sleight when it was reported (translated) that Anutin stated “Dirty Foreigners.....”...  which is not exactly what he said... the comment was deliberately transliterated by the media into click-bait gold !!!...

All of that said - the comment itself is still extremely clumsy and unprofessional from someone in public office.....  “be careful......” etc etc should be the statement as the statement in its current guise could be more damaging as there is an implication that Thais would not carry the virus !

I totally agree that the transition could be wrong but the word foreigner could not be. They could have said stop having sex or becareful with you you have sex with or no to strangers, but the word foreigner had to be used.  In the last case it said Nigerian man on over stay Visa was the 1st case of monkeypots But Nigerians can not get an entry stamp so he must have had a 60 day Visa at the very least and then he was on over stay. But monkeypots symptoms start between  day 5 to day 20 which means he caught it here so he couldnt be the 1st case in Thailand only the 1st case reported and they jumped to  print that it was a foreigner without thinking or doing the maths on dates. Mud sticks and the media is the glue with the average person not questioning

Amon said he was uncertain whether monkeypox would become endemic in Thailand. The council itself contains no such warning about limiting sexual contact with foreigners according to their online page.

But Amon was clearly worried. He said that the disease could get out of control if it spreads in monkeys, rabbits and rats.

So that last bit explains how it spreads among the indigenous?

That is in the western world, as gay men and men who have sex with men , are more likely to attend a doctor more often for regular health reviews,  including sexual health and ask for tests,

Africa transmission different , as we will begin to see. Endemic in part of Africa and no one cared, no vaccine programs

Erm? "That is in the WESTERN world"?

What part of WORLDWIDE do you not understand?
