POLITICS Trump says FBI raiding his Mar-a-Lago home

My latest juicy theory: In that pile of mess is a bunch of stuff implicating people that he saved as kompromat for up the road. Like the would-be mafia don Trump sees himself to be.

 

Hence the wailing about a simple search warrant by obviously complicit allies like the Speaker -bemoaning the implementation of Red Dawn-style Marxism in our great land (please send a check). It's all admissible in court. Gonna be a sweet fall.

Both Biden and the White House have already come out and said they knew nothing about the raid and had nothing to do with it's instigation. Could it actually just simply be law enforcement doing their job? Being the only POTUS ever to have been raided by law enforcement, the DOJ and FBI will no doubt have been super careful that this was the right thing to do so to say this is 'state agencies harassing political rivals' is a very long stretch indeed. The guy's a proven crook so don't look for alternative reasons other than him just being his usual crooked self.    

Biden also said he was arrested trying to see Nelson Mandela. Forgive me if I take his statements with a pinch of salt (as I do with Trump's). He can't remember whose hand he shook 5 seconds ago, so maybe he knew about the raid and genuinely forgot? 

 

We'll have to see what they found during the raid. It seems to have gone awfully quiet, so I suspect nothing. Just adding more fuel to the fire of Trump supporters, not a smart move IMO.

I am not a fan of Trump or Biden. I find Trump to be crass, rude and somewhat eccentric. Biden is borderline disfunctional at this stage and probably suffering from dementia. They are both economical with the truth.

 

However, I am against using state agencies to harrass political rivals. I always thought the USA was above that, it's a very slippery slope.

It was a stretch for Biden to say he was arrested but he was stopped and detained. Hardly comparable to the mountain of lies Trump has spewed out over the years

Wasn't a raid.

Indictments aren't expected until after the midterms for political reasons. 

It would be very surprising to hear specific results of these investigation anytime soon.

This is a very slow process particularly because it's about an ex president.

So Biden says something that is untrue and its just a "Stretch" , but its perfectly OK for Biden to stretch the truth "(lie) because someone else told even more lies ?

And if they don't find anything , find  no papers where they can prosecute Trump , if the raid was a pointless endeavour , then the FBI will try to keep that quiet as long as possible .

   They will drag it on for years , making excuses to why they cannot release the papers or make a persecution

Again, since you have no knowledge of how the classification system works, your opinions are prone to error.

 

In the past, I was on some Bigot Lists...which are built to monitor the most sensitive documents and secrets. Often a courier would come around with a folder that read "Eyes Only". I would be allowed to read a numbered copy. My reading would be recorded.

 

There was a continual trail following that doc by the number, as well as any other copies of it. If the time came to either archive or destroy the document copy, that, too, would be recorded. Every single copy ever made of that doc would have a trail.

 

Clearly some sensitive docs printed during 45's Admin are unaccounted for. These docs might involve sensitive sources and methods, could be the nuke codes or other highly sensitive nuke data, it could be new weapons systems....things like that which could jeopardize natsec or clandestine assets. The paper trail seems to have led to MaL.

 

When I worked in the position I did, I was told that my first priority was to protect a source, even if that means putting myself in jeopardy or giving up my own life. I was told we owe that to clandestine assets. Enormous long term harm could come from any exposure of a clandestine source---not just to the source, but to future sources who might realize their identities could be subject to the whims and entitlement of a former elected official. Now I don't know if the sought docs involve clandestine sources, but I do know whatever was being sought was of major significance, and a paper trail went fallow somewhere that led to MaL.

 

This is not 'political'.

 

Believe what you want, but you are doing so out of ignorance of how the system works and what safeguards are built into it.

You have repeatedly asserted that the FBI's search was politically motivated. Yet you have yet to offer any evidence.
