Is this OP a joke ???

I have never read such twaddle in all my life. And considering how much I read and post on here & how long I have been a member on here that's a lot of twaddle.

You need to get out more; there is far worse twaddle to be read.

Do you think you are short-tempered? Are you prone to sudden outbursts?

Back in the day we tried to set up a thread for those that suffer from Tourette’s Syndrome, but I can understand how those lacking in patience may struggle to find it

Clinking glasses is a centuries old tradition. If it makes you cringe, stay away from those sort of people.   Beards have been grown also for centuries, and in some religions are mandatory,

So...  someone who clinks their glasses, grows a beard or dresses & has their hair cut to fashion is a sheep, implying they are absent of intelligence and individual thought ?????   I’d

When I was a kid I was easily influenced by others. Thankfully, it has been many decades since I cared one iota what others think of me. Close friends and family, OK. But strangers? Please. Life is too short to be self conscious about strangers.

No, I am not a sheep, thankfully. I do my own thing. I care very little what others are doing, wearing, listening to, or watching. Means very little. Also, I gave up lines and waiting on them. If a restaurant is so popular I can't just walk in, I don't eat there. If a bank is busy, I go another time. If a phone is so popular I have to wait for it, I buy another. Same with cars, bikes, etc.

I hate being roped in for selfies with the mrs, never ending at times, even going to the shops. I will do one or two then say no, she often gets a bit grumpy then, so I am a part time sheep!

I'd very much like to know which country you think is not a nation of sheep.  Should be good for a few laughs.

@Berkshire in the majority of countries when the mask mandates were dropped people stopped wearing because it wasn't a law, yet in Thailand they have carried on wearing them, because no-one wants to be different.  even though its not even a law. ok most countries there is a lot of sheep but Thailand have got be one of the worse.  religion is another one were they're just brainwashed into it.

Yes i'm a Ram.

Besides work in the early days i have always been paid by the hour.

A lot of people still wear masks in those countries mainly because the pandemic is not over yet. Masks still prove to be an effective tool against infection. Maybe Thais are just more community health conscious than you.

Thailand is not the only country where religion is endemic. In the US 80% of people say religion is important to them. So obviously by your standards most people in the world must be brainwashed.

Why would you say that people in Thailand wear masks because "no-one wants to be different"....?  Have you asked every single Thai?  Truth is you're just making that up.  Many still wear it because they believe it protects them from COVID as well as other viruses.  As for religion, it's way worse in other countries.  Not just in Muslim countries, but Christians as well.  Sorry to say, but it appears you have no idea what you're talking about.

Going to have to agree with Paul, considering how some, many, wear their mask.  From nose uncovered to chin diaper mode, so obviously not wearing for fear of becoming infected or pollution.

Nope, same hair for over 40 years - only white & less of it...

Never subscribed or surrendered to the herd mentality.....

I did grow a beard, but for a strange reason....People kept telling me I looked like a certain singer....I wanted to look like myself - but it did lead to some interesting interludes....Let me see if I can find an old pic ...

I still have the beard, but not a full beard.....

Old pic found & submitted for laughs (and probably abuse)....

I wouldn't be over here if I followed the herd.... I'd still be slogging away back in the states where one daughter celebrates & misses me & the other one is ticked off she can't get her manipulating talons on me.....

ie do you clink glasses when people are drinking at your table just because the rest are doing it? I don't. I just hate it and it makes me cringe.

When people and friends is having a cheers I do, and I take a zip before putting my class or bottle back on the table, every time. If there is too many for all bottles of glasses to reach I "Bluetooth" clink. For me it always mean wishing each other good luck. People don't cling is out of luck 555.  The rest of your post i have nothing to do with, I my own personality.

Have to add, for some having a cheers with a glass of water or a empty container does not give them the Luck. so they don't have to bother. Guess its a little different where your roots is coming from.

OP, as long as your spending your time on such speculations try this.

How would you catorgorize someone who dresses etc like other groups but in fact does so because they like it? Maybe they did so before it was popular. Would that make that person the sheep herder or has he devolved to be a sheep?

Think long and carefully because this is an extremely important point in your worldview.

????????????Yeah, that must be it. That's why they put their mask on while driving on the wrong side of the road with no lights. Give me a break! They've just fallen for the fear porn propagated into them by their "news" media. As have you by your "news" media. Imagine at this point, still thinking masks make a slight bit of difference. Now hurry up and go get another booster like the good little sheep that you are.

Your Dunning-Kruger is showing!

No problem clinking glasses, but the beard thing is a bit whack... most blokes don't realise that it just makes them look unwieldy and old. It was a craze again the in the UK recently and will no doubt come around in another generation. I'm similar to you op, don't go for all this saying and doing what others do. Hair always cropped because it's easy. Back in the UK, everyone says 'massively' and like to prefix adjectives with the word 'super'. CRINGE!

Have you tried to decipher some of that GammaGlobulin's prattle?

Do you wear certain clothes because others wear them?  What about hair styles?

Well in Pattaya everyone including me wears shorts and t-shirts.  Don't think it is a fashion statement, more for comfort in the hot climate.  Simple clothing is what is available locally for those of us retired and on a budget.  Fancy name brand clothing in shopping malls just not affordable or necessary for old mongers 555.

My hair style is shorter because of the climate as well, not because I need a "style"

Having spent the last few hours in Bangkok incl BTS every Thai is wearing a mask, only people who aren't are some farang. A definite case of mask sheep

I saw people on the BTS before Covid that wore masks.  Many people dont want to smell you or be coughed on by you and get sick.  Wearing a mask is the cheapest health insurance you can have against colds and flu

As we all know, that's debatable, mostly does nothing, most people wear out of politeness but certainly sheepness

No, I see it & move swiftly on. Load of carp.

Wrong. Shirt-wise, most of the Brit sheep love those checked collared shirts that look like they came from the East End Thrift Shop. With cargo shorts, often smartly topped off with white socks and sandals. Killer.

I only wear shorts on the beach.

Mine isn't. I wear it longer, part of the overall nonconformity, I guess.
