How long would this guy last here in Thailand?

Featured Replies

This (middle-aged white) guy is from Zimbabwe, but has Dutch nationality.

His London 'hobby' is to seek out car drivers in traffic jams using their phones. Ok, it's against the law... but not a big deal and none of his business.

How long do you think his behaviour would see him live here in Thailand? I reckon he might survive a couple of days of this before he gets shot or beaten up.

I would give him three days. Some are more fit for this world than others. Live and let live, unless you are seriously constipated.

Probably no time because he would never be able to report anyone due to 99% of vehicles having tints too dark to enable anyone outside to clearly see what's going on inside any cars.

Law breakers are none of his business? That's your attitude to life? ☹️

Correct. If I see people breaking the law that is not a serious crime (because I'm not a police officer) it would be none of my business. also, if you watch this guy's videos, he goes out of his way to find people breaking the law... but not drink drivers or speeders.. people looking at their phones in traffic jams.. where he can catch them. He's a <deleted>.

He'd be like a duck to water in the Land of Smiles Snitches

they'd probably set up a hotline phone number for him

Is it illegal in Thailand to use a phone while driving?

Hard to understand how the driver can see through the glass , especially at night.

How long the guy would last depends on how quickly he adapts to a different culture. Some never do, then spend a fair bit of time on ASEAN bitching and moaning.

He wont survive in London.

I saw one of his videos a while back where he blocked cars with his bicycle when they tried to take a short cut on the wrong side of the divider. Gandolph corner, London?

He made some people very angry, several exited their cars and looked like they were going for him. Doing this to the wrong person could be dangerous.

I don't know what to think of this guy. Something is definitely wrong with him. Seeking out stationary cars caught in traffic jams. Sure, some are real pricks that he catches. Apart from the home invasion aspect (the inside of a car is private space as I understand it and can only be pursued by law enforcers). Let me put it this way, Let's say scientist found out that picking your nose while driving increases reaction time by 110%, Then a law was passed making it illegal. How many people would he be able to catch in the act daily? Anyway, he needs to find another hobby pretty soon, with self driving cars on the horizon:)

They can't.

So they get a huge surprise when head butting a pole or parked truck

....You Have Some Vested Interest In Getting This Guy Attention ...(?)

If motorists and motor cyclists ignor the police do you really think they would care about a foreigner?

He's doing this nonsense in London, sooner or later he'll find one that turns a bit stabby .

Not long. I suggest for his health he stays where he is.
