Tell that to the 200K+ grieving families in the UK.

Right after I tell the millions who got covid and never showed symptoms or the ones who were sick for just a few days.

Most of you who are smugly declaring you've never been vaxed very likely have actually had it with no recognizable symptoms. Get an antibody test and find out.

Finally, 2 years and 6 months later. Now we, who resisted taking the vaccine cocktail, and patiently waited for the “old normal”, which is the only kind of normal, can think about a well deserved holi

You've also now got natural immunity which we had been told is far better than any jab.

And is also temporary, decaying with time.

the world has moved on from covid.

Garbage. The legacy of covid has changed the way many people now live. Moved on to live with covid, not from.

If the Thais choose to live with masks, that is their right, or are they to be denied freedom of choice.

There is an old saying about understanding, or lack of it.

So it was ok that my old mum died in a care home in the uk of covid 19.

Alone,  no family with her,  just staff and we have no idea of what the true care was at the end for her !!!!!!!! but my sister did say to me,  how sad it was that mum was reduced to 4 black plastic bin bags of clothes to be collected by her.

Also my step daughter was hospitalized in Thailand over covid.

( she made a good recovery )

Covid-19 has been no problem for those that were never touched by this pandemic.

Like you.

Good day.

Ps Almost forgot my little brother in the uk, his 50 !!!!, he has long Covid and due to this, he has now had to take early retirement/on the sick not to sure what way round it is. from his job at the post office.

One more life ruined early by Covid-19.

Those that support the unvaccinated are inherently self centred and selfish, a complete disregard for anyone else.

If you had it without knowing it, wouldn't that make it even more of a win for not taking the treatment?

What happened in that respect was a tragedy and a massive mismanagement by the UK government that killed many innocents. Too many have forgotten how bad things were early on.

Um, you may get covid without a vaccine and not know it and spread it to others.... o forget it.

you mean spread it to someone else who won't even know they have it either ? brilliant.

It will be interesting to see how many people, particulary Thais keep wearing masks.  My guess is many will.  I still see a fair share mostly on motorbikes, but also in cars wearing them.

Old habits die hard. Peer pressure mixed with fear of something and 'the precautionary principle' probably will probably keep mask wearing going.

I just returned from Europe. Almost no one, but for a few stalwarts, was wearing a mask. I wonder why Europeans are so keen to dispense with masks, while in Thailand, they seem to be a security blanket?

you are in the minority with that view i am afraid.

I was wearing a mask on a motorcycle because you are sat behind smoke belching vehicles frequently and I have to breathe.

That seems rational. Hope you were wearing a helmet too.

Do they wear them for their personal protection or to stop themselves from passing on the virus ? Of course its for their personal protection

Stop assuming that everybody else is as selfish as you

Antibodies will decay. Memory T and B cells shouldn't decay with time.

They still have it? Amazing.

The next emergency will come when all the mandate harms come home to roost.

A bit oxymoronic that.....

I doubt there are many statistics of people who have contracted Covid, and do not know they have/did.

People seem to be catching Omicron multiple times,  That would suggest the infection is not offering much protection to reinfection.

ahhhhhh

if i remember correctly they went on and on about how so many people that got covid were asymptomatic.

Random testing?

Please let all the smug non-vaxers realize that they got away with it thanks to all the others with more brain, more common sense and more feeling of responsibility to get the vaccination and provide for herd immunity and reduce the chances for the virus to spread. If no one had been vaccinated there would have been an immense world wide disaster.

What I do find amazing is that science follows a countries economic situation. Who knew? Or has the follow the science mantra been abandoned?

The "science" follows the funding of it only.

Good to see Thailand is now in the process of scrapping all restrictions. One of the worst periods that the world has gone through because of a virus in many years. Fortunately the vaccines saved millions of lives and will continue to do so in the future for those at risk. Time to get back to normality now. The Thai's that continue to wear masks, its their choice and should not be mocked because of it.

Someone with a brain? On this forum!? I never thought I'd see the day. Good for you for standing up to the bullies. I stood my ground as well and I'm very happy I did. Some of the bullies in here still won't give up even though most people are sick of hearing about Covid. They're still shouting propaganda of mask wearing and even for children to get injected but there's no one listening anymore.

Wooohoo for you.

Both..... also include 'as a consideration for the sentiments of others around, who wear masks.' I do not see that as a misconception. Rest of your post is nonsense....

Sorry to inform you that unless you are wearing a N95 mask as a minimum standard ( you never stated your mask type ) and I doubt that , your medical type mask is a complete waste of time to protect you from fumes .

I have both types at home. The surgical ones that the staff and doctors at hospitals seem to find adequate, and particulate ones deemed suitable for pollution protection... I actually bought a large number of the latter pre-Covid and still have a lot left.  Your 'doubts' come from a position of ignorance and guesswork. I am also aware the latter are not suitable wrt infection prevention, as they have positive pressure relief valves....

Easy to keep those just with the bike....

I am genuinely sorry for your loss, but the fact that she passed alone, with no family with her, was nothing to do with covid. It was the governments disgusting and heartless response to it that led to so many people dying in similar circumstances. What they did to these people was nothing short of crimanal and those responsible must be held to account.
