That wasn’t the choice.

The choice was Truss or Sunak, the Tories made the wrong choice.

And the outcome was predictable:

Why not answer the question, would Boris have done a better job (if still in power)....?  ????

The lefties prayed to have Boris removed, one here wanted Truss to win, now she has, he is complaining on here...????

Just FYI, he's trying to infer you are a racist, without actually saying it.

An accusation that is thrown around so liberally by the left that it has become pretty much meaningless. If he is looking for real racism, I would suggest he check the Labour MP's comments about the Chancellor at the Labour Party conference. It would appear that anti-semitism is not the only issue for Labour to deal with.

It was nothing to do with the Left.

Tory MPs in a Government with an 80 seat majority threw Johnson out of No 10.

Then together with the Constituency Conservative Party membership selected his replacement.

The Left had absolutely no say in the matter.

I do however note even the ardent rightwing are now suffering ‘buyer’s remorse’.

I thought it was obvious the Tory party membership would never vote for a non-White leader.

If a white man had been in the running Liz wouldn't have been selected either.

For once we possibly agree.

Not sure about that, after a brief panic the pound is almost back to where it was.

Was you pleased to see Boris leave number ten ?

Did you support his resignation ?

It’s a meaningless question, he wasn’t in the job, he’d been kicked out by the Tories.

Let’s stay in the real world of the mess Truss is making.

It’s not just the pound.

The BoE has been forced into £65Billion of quantitative easing, this isn’t getting any better.

Delighted.

Adds:

I was in the UK listening to BBC Radio 4 Today Program as news broke time and time again of Tory Minister resignations.

It was wonderful, Radio at its best.

But I had absolutely no say in the matter.

Agree, he was a total plonker of the 'hooray Henry' brigade.

His only good point being he wasn't Teresa.

It seems to be the Left that are making a big drama of the whole thing.

As Transam noted, the pound is back to normal.

Without tanking it or putting pensions at risk.

Nothing for Truss and Kwarteng to worry about then.

If I had used the word "some" as opposed to "certain" would that have been easier for you to understand?

I'll try to stick to single syllable words for you

Well if you just used your words correctly as you suggest, then that would be ideal.  Don't worry about the number of syllables; I've got you there.  'Certain' implies a commonality that you didn't explain.  'Some' is much better.

I wouldn't go that far. Like many economies around the world, the UK is facing many issues post Covid.

Fortunately, we now have a leader with true Conservative values to make the tough decisions to lead us out of this mess. If the Left wish to wail hysterically during this process, so be it.

It’s not the response of the Left that matters, it’s how the markets respond.

£65billion spent propping up UK guilts as a direct result of Truss’ idiocy.

That 33 % Labour lead is a ‘fact’ that will have grabbed the attention of Tory Back Benchers.

It’s encouraging to see its not only the economy Truss is destroying.

But that too was predicted.

Exactly, nobody in the UK should go hungry, but when your lives revolves around take-aways instead of going out and buying some potatoes, veg and some meat your benefits will soon evaporate very quickly. But essentials like booze and cigs must come first.

Exactly, unfortunately there's a generation now, and probably their parents as well who can't put a meal together, vegetables etc are not expensive, neither are cheaper cuts of meat. When I was working in the UK, used a slow cooker regularly, and no there are not expensive to run, even with energy rises, a hot meal would be waiting for me, just cook a bit of veg, easy.

If there are, it’s the Left’s fault.

If you cant discuss without usung inflammatory insulting comments it might be better to move elsewhere before your ability to post is removed.
