I call this nonsense. Social media sites these days are very active against these issues, and they have very capable content moderation teams, including AI. It would also be incredibly stupid for a pimp to post this online for the police to easily track him down by his IP address.

Human trafficking certainly exists in Thailand, but I doubt it happens in your face like this.

Just because you don't believe it doesn't mean it's not true. Feel free to look yourself. They use terms like "รับงาน (Insert adjective here)" (in Thai). There are multiple terms. I'm not going to be specific for obvious reasons. It is not conjecture. I didn't believe it either... I was shown otherwise by a police officer.

Did they knowingly have sex with underage girls or were they told or lead to believe they were older?

Very difficult to tell the difference in age for many Thai girls/ women, I've seem older women that look like teenagers with a couple of kids in toe.

Alternatively you could always ask to see their ID card.

I totally disagree. I gave my reason, whats yours? Why would it be irrelevant?

Because the law says so, whether you disagree or not.

If you're going to purchase sex, go for the 30 year olds.  They are at the peak of their hormonal imperative to reproduce, they have experience, they know the game, and you're not going to mistake most 30 year olds with an under-aged teen.

True usually Thai girls get real from 30, also as they grow up later here than in the west, usually.

I remember having been at bars that would always have girls that are at least 20 years old, usually the youngest would even be 25 on average, and many older already. However the longer I stayed I noticed how things didn't make sense, for example I have seen girls I did not sleep with myself that recently celebrated her 21st birthday, then I realised she is around 5 years already, the thing is that means she had a baby at 16 already too from a Thai.

In terms of appearance, so often they are much older than they look as well the other way around. Only way to notice potentially would be if they were unexperienced but usually they already passed the Thai entertainment places before arriving with farang places.

Think they should be focusing on the latter, it all starts at those local places from as young as 15 year old, with weddings.

I find it kind of a conflicting thing in Thailand, it is perfectly fine to let your parents decide at 15 years old to be 'sold' to whatever guy interested. It is also to have sex.

But it is illegal to work in a bar, even if not drinking, even at 18, until the age of 20.

when i first came to Thailand 30 years ago ,in most of the bars and pole dancing joints the older girls were 18,

mind you the there is a massive difference between 14/15 yr old girls and 6/7 which were being offered sometimes in BKK

dont forget in  certain countries its quite legal to marry a 12 year old even now,

BTW to stay on topic, I think in this case those guys knew perfectly well, as it is unusual to pay 2K (1K is normal) and source it this way (everywhere available in PTY).

The term รับงาน is completely innocent as it is the general term for looking for work/a job. It’s certainly being used by girls looking for work as a freelancer or similar, but it’s also (and probably more often) used by anyone else looking for work whether that’s being a cleaner or a tutor or a sales staff.

If you refer to the original to thread on these arrests which included a link to the Thai police site:

These girls were procured online by the farangs.

They were NOT in a bar.

The bar owners ran an online email service procuring children aged from 12 years old and delivered them to the farang's hotel room.

Seems evident this is trafficking and paedophilia, despite what all the excuse-makers here state.

12 years old.

I agree, not normal at all, this wasn't a normal 1k bar fine experience, sounds like arranged via the web

The "law" in Thailand says anything you want it to say, depending upon who you are, who you know and how much money you have?

So you cannot defend your position, that's fine!

That’s nonsense. You’re confusing legislature, executive and judiciary.

I didn’t express any position which I would have to defend. I stated a fact.

Don’t blame me for what others created. Start a petition or a protest if you don’t like that the laws don’t contain any of the excuses or exceptions that you wanna see.

Exactly which law say that?

Lol, no. Look on twitter... lol. Not sure why you're doing mental gymnastics to pretend it doesn't exist. Go ahead and do a search with different types of people/places in the "insert here" and let me know what pops up. Clearly nothing illegal will popup since you believe they are so well moderated in the Thai language lol. Make sure to do it on a profile that isn't anonymous with your picture on it too. There is no porn all over twitter either lol.... especially in a language that is barely moderated.

They have much more explicit searches for illegal things, but I'm not willing to post them. ขอค่าขนม.... very innocent too lol. All these girls just really need money for a snack lol. I don't know what to tell you.... feel free to pretend it doesn't exist if it let's you sleep well at night. Clearly I'm just making it all up..... ????‍♂️

Where did I say that this means “need money for a snack”? I’m very well aware it’s code for sex services, but that doesn’t mean that Thai social media is full of child prostitution.

I never said it doesn’t exist. What I said is that: while Thai social media may be full of girls offering their services, I highly doubt it’s full of children being offered for sex.

The Thai penal code. And I’m amazed how you guys “disagree” with something just to admit that you haven’t even read it. Bravo. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised about foreigners crying foul for their own failure to know the laws of their host country.

18 is OK for working as a dancer in a bar/club, unless the law has changed recently.

My take on it is this.....a very young girl has little experience sexually therefore her expectations and demands are far less than a mature woman....some men do not know how to arouse and satisfy an older lady hence choosing a child.....sad really.

I do not think it is that simple. We are talking about PFP. When money is concerned most guys are not all that concerned with the pleasure they give the woman. This is a far deeper pathology, I suspect. Demented stuff.

Yes, thinking that you can satisfy a partner who's only there because she's being paid is beyond delusional!

You said it was nonsense lol (spoken or written words that have no meaning or make no sense.) .... You literally said the advertisement and procurement of children online has no meaning or makes no sense on social media. This is despite multiple news articles of men procuring children online. And despite me giving you the resources to research yourself....

Then you try to equate Thai language expressions online as possibly being benign so doesn't mean it happens.... then you move the goal post again.... You can literally look for yourself and report. I would welcome you to report as I am in a position that I can't cause diplomatic waves with my job.

You "doubt" but won't look.... you won't look because you know are wrong... Go look and prove me wrong... then given your stance I expect you to stand up and report all wrong doers. I expect you to endure all retaliation as someone that defames.... (e.g. journalists that reported slavery).... Put your money where your mouth is and DM me.... I will help you find it and report it.... just keep my name out of any report you do.... You won't though... because you're willing to virtue signal but wont risk yourself....

@cocoonclub Says he is willing to fight people in the street over this... but is unwilling to look at the online evidence of it happening. Wants to pretend it isn't widely available, but won't look despite multiple news organizations reporting... and I telling him how to find such content online....

This is virtue signaling at its highest level. I hate that it happens... but you won't see me fighting in the street or "defaming" (Thai legal definition) organizations to do it. I know I'm one person. Magically thinks he has a better understanding of what is possible than multiple NGOs and Government agencies....
