these are the words of  the trucker's defense or the police's own conclusion?

Tired or stoned out of his mind? I would go for the later as it is obvious the vehicle was travelling at high speed, something that may not be noticed if under the influence of drink.

You do realise that being stoned and being drunk are two entirely different things, don't you?

Yes and do you realise that driver was completely out of it which could be to either drink or drugs?

That's your speculation only and without a shred of evidence, so no, I do realise that nor recognise it without proof.

In fact, they were so nearby, the vehicle was touching them......????

At least no Kinaree on top of it, so should be cheaper to replace.

That is not a pickup!! Good reporting as usual..........lol.

Just finished posting on another pickup crash in Phuket

It will never get better.

How can you be sure.
Could be the rare case of a pickup/light truck used for meaningful purpose, delivery truck with a close cargo cabin and a wind deflector.

It's obviously not a long truck.

Delivery driver paid on piecework fallen asleep.

Would makes perfect sense after 12+ hours at the wheel?

A pick up truck is a a vehicle with a normally open load bay at the rear with either a 2 man or a crew cab, engine at the front under a bonnet. That in the picture is a small delivery truck which is totally different. You can tell by looking at the cab showing the engine will be under the cab.

He should have said he was avoiding a stray dog!!!     Wouldn't that make him a hero in the eyes of many ??
